I'm on a tight budget... The $180 seems liek a good deal. $120 for fx-6300 and $50 for motherboard + $40 for ram. its cheap

The Biostar a960d+ is a nice board. Get's excellent review percentage. I got one too with free low profile ram + an fx 6100. Snappy system!

Neither the 960D+ with an FX-6300 nor the A880G+ with the 965, which both pair low-end 3+1 phase VRM systems with high-end 4-core and 6-core processors, would be that ideal (certainly not beyond stock).

No consideration of the option with the x4 750k and FM2 board though? That'll cost the same.

For OCing no, not on the a960d+. I didn't build my little rig for AAA title gaming. Still using the integrated HD 3000 gpu too.
At most I might play TL2 on it, it's mainly for Ubuntu and light loads of work. I might put a low end 6xxx series or 7xxx series in later.
It would a good server I think.
