Sabrrtooth Z77 Bent Pin, PC working fine(read)

Last week i finally bought the mobo and the cpu i went to the store and asked to the seller if i could check the pins of the socket.. Checked the first one and there was a bent pin so he gave me another. Checked it and well i didnt see anything wrong so i took it home with me and my cpu. When i was about to install the processor i removed the socket protector and looked closely and.. oh no frown.gif There was a bent pin! I felt so sad.. the store was closed.. so i continued.. put the cpu in the socket and continued building my pc.. everything works fine never had a bluescreen or something weird (thank god) but im a bit paranoid i know the bent pin is still there, there could be more than one just didnt want to look anymore. Can a bent pin cause weird behaviour in functionality? Would it affect the performance of the cpu? If there is a little hickup or something i inmediately blame the pin and get crazy and paranoid. Sice i left the store and cheked the socket they will think i bend the pin.. so now.. im just worried about that ****.. can someone at least lie and say that there is nothing to worry about ? lol.. at least it works thank god!

It could work fine for the life of the system even with that bent pin. Only worry about it if you start running into problems smile.gif

yea many of the pins do nothing, some are just general ground or power pins, many times you can bend a pin here and there without issues.

In the first place i asked to the seller if i could check the socket because i knew many users had issues with this specially with ASUS so i insisted the first one had a lot of bent pins the seller was surprised, he didnt know what to say about then gave another one, i could barely see (Bad light conditions) But i saw it in many angles and looked fine.. when i got home the sun helped me to check it better and it was there i wasbso anoyed and sad.. I ignored it, didnt want to look anymore then started to build the PC.. I was surprised that everything was running perfect but the fact that you know that one of the pins is bent and probably cant make contact properly with the cpu just turns you paranoid, you blame it for every single stuff lol.. thats for the answers guys its good to see there are some people always helping here

if you can find which pin you can find out exactly what it does.
