[Digital Trends] Jetsetter: How used games work on Xbox One according to UK retailers - Page 7

I have no problem openly staying that I don't care about game devs. They can all go suck on an egg for all I care. I am sick of the fanatical nonsense of people worshiping these jerks for selling us products, as if it was some act of benevolence.

All hail our new/old overlord Sony!!!

Oh wait, I have a PC.....

I hope the console war at least is interesting, so far out of the game MS isn't doing too swell but E3 is coming let's see what they have.

That's why stores sometimes discount damaged goods, even if the damage is just superficial. The price reduction in the case of video games is a result of waiting longer to play it rather than quality.

Do you advocate that original retailers and manufacturers get a cut of used sales for ALL goods or just video games?

why would that apply to used games but not all games?

SO what you guys are saying, if I buy a song off ITunes and listen to it once, I should be able to sell it to somebody else for less? Did the song lose value? Is it not the same exact song when I sell it as it was when I bought it? Why is the second-hand buyer entitled to a cheaper price than I am?

The second hand buyer is entitled to what ever price the original owner sets.

I buy the song. I gave them money for a product. I now own said product.

If I want to sell or give away my song, I should be able to.

That's exactly what we are saying.

It's called a free market, where value is determined by the market, not just the initial seller.

If someone decided they don't want to pay the full price for an iTunes song and can find someone else that is willing to sell it for cheaper; it's their right to buy it cheaper.

That is retarded. And the very reason why I will not be getting this generation of consoles. PC is just overall better with the exception of console exclusives such as Halo.

Yes.

Because the owner/seller offered it to him at a lower price. No one forced him to sell it at that price. He chose to.

Your use of the word "entitled" is outrageous and offensive, as is your hate of free markets.

So I'm sure it's ALL Microsoft's fault here right and that the developers are indifferent to whether or not they get the $$$ on used sales? May damage the used sales market, but it's good for our developers. Too many dev lay offs recently. It's hard to have new IP's when companies are too frail to hire new individuals.

Sorry, I do not intend to be offensive to anybody with the use of "entitled." Wrong word I suppose.

I guess what I'm disagreeing with is the amount of flak MS is getting here. 72 hours of pure hatred and baseless raging when there's a complete double standard for our *holy Steam. Saying "oh but Steam sales!" is only a justification for the no second hand sales and a complete double standard.

First, not using the word "entitled" is a very good start. It makes people very angry because it is very patronizing.
As if we the consumers are dirty peasants merely feeding off the handouts of the big corps.

Second, not everyone (me at least) doesn't support Steam full on. Steam is in the land of "digital content" where the rule can't be applied because they aren't selling you a product (game) but merely a license. At least I think that's how they do it.

I totally do understand the Steam double standard. If not endorsing Steam is what I have to do to speak out against this X1 crap then so be it.
