If Sony regulates used games in any way, We should also boycott Sony.

Hmm, guess i'll be passing on the new consoles.

I have a PS3, but only own one game (GT5). Other than that, its just a media hub with Bluray. Heck, since I have a Smart TV now, I barely turn on the PS3.

This stuff is just geting out of control. If I buy a game, then decide I want to give it to a friend, that transfer should be totally free. The only time cost should be added on to something like this is if there is a support contract involved, which doesn't exist in this situation.

I should probably read into it some more, but can I lend a game to a friend for a month? I'm supposing it would be the same a PC games in that situation. I would probably have to deactivate it from my account, and then they would have to activate it to their account.

I wonder if they will have to pay an activation fee. Then when I get it back, I will have to pay another activation fee. Poo on that.

My point is that only people who research things on the internet are going to be aware of this, and most people don't research things on the internet. The average consumer is just going to buy an Xbone and then move on, and view this as a little inconvenience.

That is likely true.

^ I don't agree. my personal experience in business tells me that consumers are more price-conscious than you would think. it is absolutely true that consumers are stupid however money is something they do understand

I'd agree with you if you said this in 2008. However considering that A LOT of my generation is connected and is constantly on the internet, and the one behind us even more so, I find it hard to believe people are as oblivious to the knowledge of anything nowadays as they were just a few years ago. It doesn't mean they'll choose to acknowledge it, but at the very least it's there, and easier than ever to obtain. Hell even one of my friends said "I watch a lot of TV so I'll probably get the Xbox One", then said "Well a lot of my friends are saying they're getting the PS4 so I'll probably get one, too".

Guess we gotta wait 'n see what the word is on both consoles after E3.

so I have been in a position where there is absolutely no internet what so ever. what happens when I wanna borrow my buddy's game and put it in my next gen console.
that's the issue that is making everyone angry. the game has been purchased, and now they want to dictate what happens after its been purchased? that's the issue. do I own account exclusive games? yes, but I think we all do.

I bought a car, paid it off. now I want to sell it to my buddy joe down the street. hey joe I know you just bought this car from me for X amount of $$$$$ but after you have the car you gotta re pay the dealership and the manufacturer a small fee of course. and if you sell the car to another guy he will have to do the same.

this does not work in the real world, why should we make exceptions to money hungry corporation's?

I'm going to get an Xbox One for Halo. If it can replace my htpc, then that's a plus but I doubt it.

Im going lend games on steams 24hr 'lend to a friend' system where by you still have the game but a friend gets to play too for 24hr, which usually results in a sale. You have 4 a month to lend which is fair I think so you dont abuse the system

I doubt it people will buy the new xbox in droves if they have to go through all this hassle to buy used games and a reactivation fee. Unfortunately, the game console crowd are used to not paying for reactivation fee for years for the console industry and this sudden change will drive them away towards more economical alternatives. Console systems have always been about economical, affordable, and hassle free entertainment where the pc market has been the opposite. It's almost like microsoft wants to kill off the their console in much the same way next flex shot off their foot. They were warned, but went ahead anyway.

Customers are stupid but money is the one Thing they do understand. This thing will Survive but it won't be a smashing success as 360 Was. It will sell slower.
