So I'm really torn at the moment between sticking with my current Sapphire 7950 OC cards in crossfire or selling them and getting a GTX 780. Quite frankly, I'm kinda done with the dual-GPU thing because dealing with drivers is too much of a hassle. If it's not a sit down and play experience, I just flat out won't play a game. A perfect example is Crysis 3. Oddly enough, I don't notice too much in the way of stuttering, but my cards max out at 60 percent usage no matter what graphics setting I have the game on.

The only reason I bought crossfire cards again after my 6970s was for the compute performance. Now that that use has pretty much run its course at this point, I only really use them for gaming. AMD's drivers might get better in the coming months, but if a GTX 780 offers me a better experience today, I figure why not go for that. The only other wrinkle would be the 9000 series from AMD, which may have a card with a better price/performance than the 780 or will push Nvidia's prices down. This is the exact reason why up until now, I've never bought a card anywhere near release. I'd like to know what you guys think about this situation and what you would do in my shoes.

Wait for the AMD driver fix that is coming up and gtx 770 release. Your setup should match or beat a titan's performance right now. If you can wait out a month or two, you may be able to upgrade for a cheaper price, or with fixed drivers, have no need to update at all.

780 if you can get decent $ for your 7950.

AMD multi gpu is pretty bad so I can understand where you come from, and the 780 is a huge performance gain in terms of pratical fps over 2 7950 at this point of time. But it is quite expensive fo you. you probably won't get enough money form selling two 7950 to purchase a 780.

If I am totally honest with you I would sell one 7950 and stick with it unti next generation cards come out. That's what I would do. I think the performance requirement will increase in 2014 once the new console hit the market and the game get flowing.

when i had my 7970 xfired with the 7950 with both at stock i get 100% usage on the 7950 and about 90 on the 7970. my i7 was/is oc'ed to 4.5GHz in C3 with Very High settings (all) and 4MSAA at 1080. wait for the 3770K and see if your usage improves.

Definitely not a CPU bottleneck. Not enough for 40 percent less GPU usage. I have a 2500k at 5 ghz. I might get a few more frames, but I don't see that being the issue. I think it's software related. It's not an OS problem because it's a fresh install of 7. The drivers are also fresh installed. Latest beta driver. It's done this with every driver I've tried in the past. Really at a loss. It's a shame because I'd really like to play the game. It goes down to 45 fps during any large scene, which to me is unplayable.

you've tried the new 5.13b drivers? hmmm I was running some lowly 7770's feb-march and didn't have any issues with them, did have to have the drivers up to date etc. have you installed the new CCC that's available as well?

you have not seen the benchmark have you? a single Titan would not even get that close. you need 2 titans not to go down 60 minimum in C3.

edit: and 2 titans (imo) need at least a 3770K oc'ed. i mean oc'ed.

True, but it ends up feeling much lower in crossfire thanks to the frame times. I'd rather a smooth 45 over a stuttery 45.
