The G700 will have more features but you will experience acceleration, while you wont with the DA. They are two fairly different mice.

Can you explain the acceleration thing? I have not heard about it before.

Acceleration?

The cursor on screen moves faster depending on how fast you are moving the mouse. So if you move the mouse really slowly, the cursor on screen moves a very short distance compared to how much your mouse actually moves on the mousepad. If you move your mouse very quickly, the cursor will move a much longer distance compared to how much your mouse actually physically moved on the mousepad.

The result of it is: When you move the mouse from A to B (two fixed points on your mousemat), depending on how fast you move your mouse, the cursor on screen will move different distances. The problem with this is that the cursor to hand movement is not a 1:1 mapping. Acceleration means that you won't get consistency unless you always move the mouse at the same speed (impossible). For FPS games when you want to develop muscle memory about how much to move the mouse to aim at an exact point on the screen immediately, acceleration causes problems.

If you are going to ask for advice on mice, there is no way you can get any objective information from people on forums unless (as someone mentioned) they have tried multiple mice and can give you objective information about how they compare (not that x mouse is crap or good). Usually you just get a LOT of opinions from people (this mouse is great, that mouse is trash, etc), but that doesn't mean anything at all, if you want to get real information look for mouse comparisons and determine which mouse is best for you.

I've tried maaaaany mice, and played FPS and RTS (and now MOBA too) for years. The best advice I can give you, is that the way you learned to use a mouse, and the grip and style of gripping you have been using for years is the best style of gripping for you, no matter what. Once you have got used to a certain mouse and a certain grip and aim style, that style will be your most effective for life! People think they can adjust, but in reality you can never regain the kind of precision that your very first gaming setup provides you (this is assuming you used a setup grip and style long enough to mature with it). Unless you particularly hated that setup.

So here's a few questions for you, what are you most used to in terms of grip (claw/palm) and have you used that setup long enough? If you've had this small Dell mouse for like 5 years then I highly recommend getting a mouse that you will grip the same.

Another question is, do you have the curiosity to buy various mice and compare them for yourself or do you just want to buy one mouse, and if you're happy with it ignore everything else?

Also, what kind of gamer are you? Do you play competitive multiplayer FPS or are you more a casual gamer who plays mostly story mode and campaigns?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Don't think I experience acceleration with my G700 then... don't know why it was mentioned as a "thing" it does.

Also, do your self a favor and post in the mice forum. You'll get more help there, from people who, like the person above, have actually tested multiple mice. thumb.gif

Edit: Yup! Definetely the G700 does not have acceleration... unless you want it to. Again, this is going back to the whole idea that people just throw opinions without actually knowing. That's why I gave you reasons why I like my mouse in my other post and see if they are similar things you may also like. thumb.gif

BTW see below... acceleration in the advanced settings... OFF

Any A9500-A9800 mice (such as the G700) will have around 5% or positive acceleration regardless of any driver settings. This flaw comes from the hardware itself.

I've recently purchased a Mionix Naos 8200 having previously owned a wide array of gaming mice. I can safely say, it is by far and away the best mouse i've ever owned. I honestly can't find a single thing wrong with it.

Unfortunately this sort of comment doesn't really help us. What made it better than which other mice you owned, and why?
