OP, you need to not get that case. I know you're probably dead set on the visual appeal of the case but if you don't have money to put down on performance AND visual appeal, you always go down the performance route. I am hoping I can talk you out of that specific case. Overall, you can spend your money much more efficiently for things that matter. It's kind of like buying a car and instead of dropping a turbo charger on it you opt for getting flame decals and a spoiler which will invariably make it look childish and mismatched.

If I were you: I would drop the sound card + the case and focus on getting an SSD and an Ivy Bridge in there. It is not worth gimping your system with an AMD processor if you're looking for performance. If anything, the 8350 is the only viable option if you're looking for long term support for multi threaded games.

You're bottle necking yourself tongue.gif

Dead platform, better mobos for cheaper, I understand AMD, at that price point though he could fit into intel. Drop the Sound card SSD isn't necessary right out the gate as it doesnt improve gaming performance as much as we like to pretend (its awesome in general use) Case is a bit much, Coolermaster's HAF 922 and HAF XM will do the job at about 50 bucks cheaper.

for the love of god STOP SAYING THIS MY 3570K IS GETTING TAXED AT 4.2 GHZ in a bunch of games I play. OP the 6300 is a fine gaming CPU the 3570K is a bit better also the 7870 is a fantastic GPU, Don't go Nvidia unless the 660 ti is near the same price as the 7870 other wise stick with AMD or give around $350 on a GTX 670

Name a game that uses more than 2 cores please..and dont be rude..Most and i mean most( 90%) run off of 1 core..i5 3570 has higher performance than the FX 6300 per core. If your i5 is getting "taxed" i would say something is wrong..

I would skip the sound card and use the extra money to upgrade to 7950. It will save you money in the long run. You have the option to crossfire a more powerful gpu later on and get a sound card later on.

Yeah but they don't properly use more than 4 cores, nor do most/all of them run better on an AMD 6 core. But still, at $140, AMD hex core vs Intel dual core... lol the choice is clear.

I dont have a problem with the i5 3570K, Its my CPU All im saying is if OP Can afford a I5 to get one but the idea that a dual core is still viable today with the octocores coming out in the next gen consoles is kind of a bit odd. I just don't like the idea that 6 cores are a "Waste" that is all. if OP can get a 3570K I say he should.

I have 2 of those and run them on my i5 2500k with no problems. How is your cpu being taxed? Crysis 3 is a very demanding game and uses 65% of my cpu at 4.6 overclock . Tomb raider uses less.
