I just saw this. God this is literally retarded. How embarrasing for overclock.net.

Perhaps some people do go too far, I agree there are too many conspiracies and it muddies the lines between fact and reality. It maybe peoples 'retarded' ((nice use of the word by the way)) opinion but they are entitled to it even if it angers you.

Just to back up my NWO comment a few comments ago... there is a bit @ 23mins where an official letter written by a long time Bilderberg regular / founder claims to want a global NWO and that they are the GODS of men !!

** IF ANYTHING, WATCH THOSE TWO MINS** @ 23.00

-- See, you trust these people and call everyone else a wakko

interesting. I dont buy into everything i watch or read but its always worth reading up on stuff so you can make your mind up rather than just burying your head in the sand. Big corporations ARE allowing for the government to snoop in on everything you do.

its only 70 years ago since a world war was started using just about the same values and many of the families around at the time and involved still are today.

I don't disagree that some of it is genuinely to protect.. but to protect what? the people or their systems and ideologies

Well, that's paranoid. Do you really think someone at MS has enough time to watch thousands of hours worth of footage of you staring at the screen?

I agree that is paranoid looked at isolation but what about the overall picture of your sense of perceived privacy .. your lack of freedom isn't pushed in your face everyday but a camera is there staring at you, ok so no big deal you turn it off..

well the whole point of this thread initially was that you couldn't turn it off! now some have said you can .. but yet i haven't seen a proper release from Microsoft that states you can remove it from the system and still play games and be online ? if you have show me it please as id be interested in that

then i suppose most of the people in this thread would be content with that option.

MS already said in an official statement that you can pause Kinect interaction.

Or you can just turn the thing towards the wall or cover it if you want to watch porn.

Sorry but the revelations of the NSA scandal and PRISM, you would be stupid to think your government is not using the information. If it can be stored it will be used.

Have you not been following the news lately? How deep this NSA spying goes is beyond us. I have always and rightfully so been paranoid over the capabilities of our government. You would think that you have nothing to hide if you're not doing anything wrong, but they spy on people indiscriminately. We don't know what they are capable of and that is the point as to why I cover all webcams with tape.

Edit: Sorry, this was actually a reply to Bennny.

What angers me is the internet has given birth to a new age of conspiracy theorist wackos that act on emotion and spread stupid information like the plague with absolutely no critical thinking and foresight whatsoever. It's more entertaining to believe that everything is all an elaborate government plot like the movies and not actually boring data collection for the sake of trying to help law enforcement do their jobs.

I have a strange weird fascination with missing persons cases and have read a lot about what goes into to trying to get even simple stuff like a persons cell phone ping trace and it's NOT simple and easy even when there is urgency. This whole privacy debate is too political for here and is best saved for a 100+ page thread in the off topic forum. M$ clarified everything about the kinect already. The debates over.

It's the same thing laptops have to cover up their webcams. Just slide it over to open/close it.
Not good enough, I want to disable audio function as well and remove the 24 hour update DRM crap.
