Safe way to apply Liquid Ultra on 7970 and compared with MX-4

Hi!

I want to share my experience and results with Liquid Ultra and MX-4 paste
on water cooled 7970 with EK-FC7970-Acetal.

I wanted 100% safety so i spread a little amount of silicone paste around the GPU.
This is protect the tiny component around the GPU core.

With LU:

Before LU, i used Artic cooling MX-4 and it was pretty bad after 2-3 weeks.

I have some results. 7970 clocks: 1100/1500 @1,17V (default)
ambient temp: 22°C, idle water temp: 26°C, idle GPU temp: 29°C
Stress program: MSI Kombustor 3D API: Direct3D 11 , 3D object : MSI , AA: off ,
Resolution: 800x600

I will update the grapf after few weeks if there will be any temp change with Liguid Ultra.

the after six weeks may be affected by other things like a dirty rad inhibiting proper heat transfer. just a guess.

i guess you were able to maintain your room temp as much as you can. ambient really affected my temps. this time of year is crazy 'cause a few days ago it was in the 70s and now it is down in the 50s. my cpu and gpu temp are going up and down 5 - 7C.
