Momentus XT Raid 0? Is it possible or worth it?

Hi all!

I'm pondering whether to upgrade my old 5400 rpm drive to a raid 0 Momentus XT setup. I read a few forums saying that it cant be don't but then i have seen loads of benchmarks where it has been done. This confused me a bit and i was wondering was it made possible from a certain firmware update?

Also if it is possible, is it worth it? My plan is to raid 0 two Momentus XT's as a general application and storage drive, use my SSD as a boot drive and have my old 5400 as a games/steam install drive. Would this be worth it for the money?

Thanks all in advance for advice! You guys ROCK xD

From what I am reading is that the drives don't work well in raid in legacy mode. You should be able to run them in a normal raid 0 setup. Also, worst case scenario, just run them as a dynamic volume in windows.

Thanks for the reply xD

What exactly is dynamic volumes? I've herd the term but don't really know what it is?

Thanks again smile.gif
