Somehow someone needs to convince Polyphony to make Gran Turismo available for PC. Then Need for Speed series will die.

So I completely ignore racing games on PC.

There are a number of racing sims and GT is not a sim. You just haven't looked. There are no comparable games to the GT and Forza series though, and I'm sure that's what you meant.

Yes i meant commercial titles. And I know there are sims, and then there are sims. I want racing game simulation. Not a real life simulator with gazzilions of settings. Still GT and Forza are more sim than anything on PC. There was a racing game with only Dodge vehicles. That one was better than any Need For Speed game I ever played biggrin.gif

I tried one of those sims btw. Didn't like any of them. I laughed hard when I spinned a sub 100 bhp car inwards because the rear was outta control in a corner at 40 km/h biggrin.gif If you can not simulate Tyres and friction mechanics, don't try to be a real sim, that's what I think when I try "real sims"

I read a rumor about ubisoft working on a forza/gt competitor. Also, patch for GRID 2 fixed my stutter and the dodgy VOIP.

I've been playing for a few hours now...trying to get my $'s worth. :/

PCars is looking like it's going to fill that gap in the market. Here's hoping.

*crosses fingers*

I'm actually having a much better time racing online right now due to a talkative crowd. Amazing how much of a difference voice makes for me.

I paid for it...damnit if I dont try to love it. wink.gif

Have you played Project CARs or RaceRoom Experience...both are FANTASTIC simulators, cant wait for both to be released

OP should make a poll with you says to get the game and who says it's not worth it. I am still debating.

I've got 15 hours put into it so far... 2-3 of it online.

It's astonishing how bad a majority of the players are online that I've encountered so far... I haven't finished below 3rd yet. And most of them have been wins. I have a half-dozen (or more) 1st place finishes, 1 2nd place, and 2 3rd place finishes. Touge / Faceoff is so easy because nobody brakes going into corners and just bounces off of walls.

And to think, I put off playing online until today because I wasn't sure how well I'd do... I dunno, maybe it still helped me to learn the cars through the Story Mode.

The only thing I've become frustrated with, is when playing online and finishing first - I have to just sit there and stare at the results screen until everyone else finishes. If I try to 'spectate' I crash after a couple of seconds every time (only tried it 3 times). And yes, the graphics won't win any awards. It's an upgrade from the first Grid, but not by a whole lot.

There is something comparable but it's usually written off due to EA's lack of support. Shift 2 Unleashed when using the Unofficial Community Patch (UCP) at a minimum plus the Career Mod by Tulib202 is pretty epic. I wish it had pitstops and weather but EA didn't give enough time for that. It does however have some of the best racing out, just don't use the Steam version as it's still broken since the 1.02 patch that EA screwed up with.

Personally I'll be sticking to that until pCARS comes out as GRID 2 is anything but a sequel to GRID IMO. The handling is warped, can't turn the TrueFeel AIDS off, so it's always interfering with your driving etc...

Looks pretty though. Until you realise you are in a racing game, not a beauty pageant.
