geforce 660 driver

Thread Starter
Hey all,
I just got done with my new build and installed all my drivers for everything but the graphics card. I have tried a couple times to install the driver for my gigabyte geforce gtx 660OC and i get all the way through it and then get the dreaded screen and it tells me that there has been an error

"IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
and that it is going to restart. I'm really not sure what to do. I've looked around but haven't been able to find much help

anyone have any suggestions for me?

ok, now it's not blue screening, changed the UEFI to the correct RAM settings, but it's saying it failed now during the installation process

That BSOD is usually related to a RAM issue... I would use Memtest86 to see if it can find a problem.

What happens after installing the drivers and you reset? If you have to roll back the drivers to get windows to start then it may be a problem with the GPUs memory and you will need to get the GPU replaced.

The usual situation ends up like this: computer starts fine and goes into windows without the GPU drivers installed. As soon as you install the GPU drivers the computer bluescreens and when you restart it bluescreens or you have to roll back the drivers and then it starts up fine until you install the drivers again.

I would def do what the other person recommended as well as it isn't common for this issue to happen to people but if what I described is happening to you then there is a very good chance your video card is the culprit.

doesn't sound like the video card is my culprit, so i'm gonna do the scan today on my RAM and see why they aren't behaving. Thank you smile.gif
