SSD on slackware?

Hello,

I am thinking of installing slackware on my ssd and putting the /home on a regular hard drive. I am new to linux and wondering if there is anything I should know before? I am interested in dual booting with my current win os which is on another ssd, where some directories like Users (ect) are also on a different hard drive. I am worried there might be some complications during install. The ssd I will be using for slackware is brand new and I know you don't format them, but will slackware force format it and possibly ruin the allocation? Also will slackware get confused when I run the setup with all the different hdds/ssds connected through ahci? Is there anything I should know before specifically with the SSD partition setup? Also can I log into ubuntu and use gparted before starting slackware install and create the partitions /, /swap and home before running the slackware setup and just skipping it during the prompt? Thx

Here's a few things to glance over:

Should cover pretty much everything you need to know.
