Looking for a new gaming monitor

Hello Everyone,

I'm building a new Haswell system along with a 780 ACX SC from eVGA (maybe getting 2, not sure right now). I'm going to primarily be using this for gaming, programming, and schoolwork (computer engineering). I usually play games like League of Legends, Battlefield 3, CS GO, Black Ops 2, and any new titles recently released. I live in Toronto so I am able to shop at canada computers, ncix, newegg and a couple of other places close by. I saw this AOC monitor that was 2560X1080 and it really caught my eye. Really, this would around what I would spend on a monitor. I'm coming from the ASUS VG236H 120Hz and I was very happy with that. I was just wondering if there are any other monitors (3d ready etc.) to consider?

Thank you for reading

Meh, I just posted about how I'm not super happy with my 2560x1080 monitor. It's great in theory, the extra space is nice, but it's really only useful for mutli-tasking, but I think a dual monitor setup would be better. I like to work with maximized screens and I have to use the built in screen configuration app that comes with the monitor to do that. Also not every game on the block supports 2560x1080 so I end up with 1920x1080 and black bars on each side of my screen.

Now for apps that can use that area well, design and such it's great, just not sold on it for gaming and the like.
