Kana Tracking Issues

Yeah so I just bought it I love the minor prediction and everything else the mouse has to offer the side buttons are meh, but I have an issue with the optical sensor it uses I don't remember its exact name but it is the same as the one in the mico. It isn't a huge problem but the frequency spikes to over 1000Hz on 500Hz therefore I tried to use hudusbf.sys to try to fix it like I did with my AM which worked flawlessly after, but the fix didn't work with the Kana and now it randomly stops tracking and just goes crazy really like it is malfunctioning. Does anyone know how I could fix this I already tried unstalling all my USB drivers and deleting the hudusbf.sys.

This is a known issues with the Kana, the mouse will spike to 1000hz at any polling rate. I think its best if you uninstall the drivers and just flash the firmware to the latest one, leaving the polling rate at 1ms. I find the mouse the most stable when leaving it at default and not using the ss engine to save settings on the on board memory.

Just don't buy SteelSeries mice. If you are after an ambidextrous mouse go for the Abyssus or G100s or WMO instead. Much better sensors and far less buggy software.

uh I fixed it, there seemed to be hairs obstructing the sensor.

I play on too low of a sensitivity to use the WMO, Abyssus looks pretty awful, and I don't know if I'd like the G100 not really worth the gamble.

Just face it the WMO/Abyssus are the two best mice for QL with G100s probably a close 3rd (will try it ASAP when its released in UK) but it looks promising.

Reasons: 1) all these mice have excellent sensors with flawless tracking
2) they have a comfortable, ambidextrous design that is suitable for any grip or hand
3) as simple as it gets

I happen to have the g100s, WMO, and kana, but I still prefer the kana. Even though its sensor isn't the greatest, its shape makes up for it.

Tbh, I think steelseries should make a kana v2 and put a decent sensor in it. That would make it like the best mouse ever. biggrin.gif

The problem with all steelseries mice is that they still have no prediction free sensors in it.
They should follow brands like zowie and razer and start using the same sensors as they use in their mice.
Indeed a kana or xai would be amazing with a sensor like the DA or Zowie AM

I'm sure they will release a new mouse soon with the Avago3090 but the infrared sensor the DA uses is licensed to Razer.

tbh if the G100s had 2 side buttons like the kana has I would give it a try, but since the kana has the extra two side button its perfect for me in weight and feel and i do stress this is for me.

You just find the mouse that works for you and stick with it smile.gif
