My first SLI tonight and have a question about low GPU usage

Just got another GTX 660 TI installed an hour ago and this is my first SLI setup. Using an OSD server to show stats I noticed while I'm playing Tomb Raider both my GPU's usage never get full usage, normally around 70%-85%. I know I won't have high usage when the game is running at 60FPS but while I see the low usage I'm getting like 40-50FPS so shouldn't I be seeing like 99% for both cards?

Surely I don't have a CPU bottleneck, check my sig

Check CPU-Z/Task Manager when playing TR. Situations like this usually indicate a CPU bottleneck. My CPU was running at like 1.6ghz or something crazy when I was playing the game and I was getting the same results as you. It's the only game I've ever seen do it and I had to force my CPU to run at 4.7ghz by adjusting values in the BIOS.

Also make sure you don't have V-sync on in the NV control panel or in the game options. If you do the GPUs will only work as hard as they need to keep the framerate at your 60hz refresh rate.

Thanks for the reply. I had Vsync off in game and also in control panel but I figured out the issue, I had the game setting called "exclusive fullscreen" to off and once I turned it on both my cards go up to 99% usage. Not sure what that setting did as I didn't notice any difference but the usage and framerate went up

Ah yeah I forgot about that option. Glad it's resolved though, it's a great looking game on PC.
