When it comes to AIO cooling, there are a few conditions to consider. Depending on if you're using an optical drive, you might be able to remove the cage and install and AIO in the fan position there. Depending on the motherboard type and RAM slot locations, this might not work. The only other place for fully mounting a unit would be the fan location by the PSU. I got my Antec Kuhler 620 to fit there, but it was a tight stretch (because of tube length) to the CPU socket. I picked up a NZXT Kraken x31 because of the longer tube length and it fits great, but you have to be cautious of your PSU length. Depending on if full modular, not full modular or not modular at all, the deepest PSU length should be from 140mm - 150mm.

What is the rest of your setup? Before going AIO cooling, I had a Scythe Big Shuriken rev2 on my CPU and was able to install 2 RAM sticks and still use the optical drive cage. My setup is a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 with 8GB (2x4GB) of RAM. It all really depends on RAM slot location and how the RAM has to be installed.

Anyone here try cutting a hole on top to add an AIO cooler like how it can be done on the RVZ01?

Hi everyone. Thought I would share how my build panned out. I'm very happy with the case and turn out. Air flow/temps is quite good too and thats with a atx motherboard and full size gpu. My only gripe would cpu cooler options specifically for amd boards because not all coolers will rotate 90degrees and with how close the cd drive bracket is it really narrows cpu cooler options. But with that said i dont think theres a whole lot that could be done while trying to keep the overall size relatively small. One other thing i could note is that my psu is 160mm long and fitting a 120mm fan infront of it wasnt gonna work without doing a hard and immediate bend on the modular cables connectors so i used the optional 80mm mounting option instead as to not put unnecessary stress on connectors. Heres a parts list:
Case: GD09B
Processor: AMD 1100t BE
Mobo: Gigabyte 990xa-ud3 rev.1
Cpu Cooler: Cooler master TX3
GPU: HD7870 GHz of edition
Psu: seasonic 550w gold semi modular
Ocz ssd
Nzxt fan controller
All fan spots populated (one missing in pic cause it's in the mail)

That looks pretty good! I did not think the TX3 would fit at first glance. Nicely done.

Just picked up a ZOTAC GTX 970 and installed it last night. Thought it was the perfect time to actually take and post some pictures of the build:

Nice to see that the nzxt AIO fits. I tried that exact placement with the original corsair H80 that I have laying around but the hoses weren't long enough

Previously I was using an Antec Kuhler 620 in my GD08 but when I switched over to the GD10, I noticed that the tubes had just enough stress on them that there was a very slight leak happening. Before getting another AIO I started researching and the NZXT was the only thing within my budget that longer tube lengths. Only issue is where the rad is pressing against the modular cables on the PSU. It's tight, but it definitely works.

Hi all,

I'm about 1.5 months from ordering parts for my new HTPC, and I'm still considering the GD09 case, but I've got some concerns about fitting the heatsink and/or RAM in this case. I'd like to know if anyone has experience putting a Skylake board/processor into the GD09? The pictures of the boards I can find seem like the processor/RAM is farther away from the back of the board, putting it even closer to the optical drive cage. Do I still need to be concerned with heatsink height and/or RAM height?

hey, i dont have any personal experience with skylake but as long as u get plain ram with no heatsink like i did or will a low profile heatsink you'll be fine in that department. as for the heatsink. thats the tricky one to say without seeing it. At the very least the oem supplied cooler will work or u could do an AIO like darklink did above or get everything installed and see what it looks like and if some sort of air cooler will work. good luck! (im very happy with my gd09)

PS page 18 of the owners manual has some allowable dimensions on it:
