Silverstone Grandia GD0X Owner's Club - Page 40

I would really like to use a GD09 for an HTPC. Unfortunately, I've already purchased an MSI RX 470 Gaming X for the build. This card is slightly taller than the official GPU height spec. (Prefer this card due to extremely low noise levels in this series.)

Can anyone here let me know both their GPU card model and how much space is left between it and the top of the case? I would especially be interested in any GPU card model that is physically touching the top of the case, or even very slightly bowing it up, as this would indicate the really real height limit.

Also, I notice the spec for the case lists the height including it's feet. Can anyone measure the interior height of the case? I'm thinking I might be able to find some shorter motherboard stand-offs to gain a few mm.

Thanks in advance.

Hello all. I am hoping you can help. I am looking at finally putting my computers guts in a new case. I built it about 2yrs ago and used the case I had. Ive narrowed down to 5 cases and I am leaning towards a GD case (the ( was recommended to me). I was hoping someone could help me figure out if this case would work for my components.

Intel i5 4690k
MSI z97 Gaming 5 ATX
G Skill Trident X 16gb 2400-ddr3 (2x8)
MSI GTX 970 4G Gaming
EVGA Supernova P2 850w (fully modular)
WD Blue 1tb

I have an EVE212 right now and know that wont fit. Thats not a big deal to me. In the specs of the case it states that my GPU is to large but I read of people modifying the cases to accept them? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey gang!

I will be starting my first HTPC in a month and I have decided to go with SilverStone for a chassis.
Which one of the Grandia series would you recommend? I am going for a plain htpc (meaning I won't be gaming on it) for media HD and 4K streaming from my NAS, running OpenELEC and Kodi.
The GD09 looks amazing but i think it could be quite of an overkill since i'm thinking of going with mATX mobo and probably a gtx1050ti (mini factor).
Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Curious, does anyone have theirs rack mounted (with pics)?

I'm actually going to do this within the next weeks. I've gotten myself a 15U server cabinet, but I still need to mount some rails for my servers, after that I'm going to transfer my gaming rig into my GD08 with RA02 rackmount adapters and put it into the cabinet.
I'm still thinking about leaving out the HDD cage for better airflow, but then I'd have to think for a solution to mount my four 2.5" drives inside the case. For now I'll leave the cage as it is though.

So I got GD09B last year to house my 3770K and hardware from my old computer. I thought it could hold one of the new Cooler Master 120 AIOs. You need one of their smaller power supplies to make it work (and remove one of the front USB ports to make room for the rad), but it fits! But it has a blue light on the pump that can't be turned off...so I added a bunch of blue lights/fans. Then I cut out the plastic grate over the side panels and replaced the dust screen. I might 3D print new featureless side panels, but I'm happy with how it has turned out at this point. I'm a huge fan of this case and just wanted to share what I was able to cram in there.

That looks awesome! Thanks for sharing man! It's rare to see a compact ATX case like this and you filled it out well.

Hi all!

I've recently buil a PC based on GD09.
CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 1600
MoBo: MSI B350 Tomahawk
RAM: 2X8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz CL15
GPU: MSI RX480 Gaming X 8GB
SSD: Samsung SM961 256GB
PSU: Coolermaster SilentPro M2 620W (recycled from previous rig)
HDD: Samsung 1TB (same as above)

I'm now running on stock cooling, only one fan in case.
As I want to make a little bit of OC, I'm planning to populate all available slots with Scythe SlipStream's that served me well in the past.
I've not decided yet how to cool my CPU. I'm leaning towards Noctua NH-U9, but it's quite expensive and I could manage to purchase an AiO instead. The question is: wich one?
I'm planning to install it next to PSU (which is 150mm long), as I have 80mm of clearance there.
Based on all the above, which cooler should I get?
Silence is my priority, but I want to run at least 3.8GHz.
