How to Rest Hands on Keyboard?

Thread Starter
So I notice that many keyboards have a wrist rest but when I rest my hands on one it is awkward. I heard someone say somewhere that is actually bad for your wrists to rest them on the keyboard. I have noticed though that I type faster on my laptop where I can rest my hands on the base of the laptop. So how should I position my hands when typing? Thanks any help is appreciated

I was more asking about when typing on a desktop keyboard.
i do not use the 10 finger technique.. i think i use three fingers with the right hand and 1- 2 fingers on the right hand
the left had is resting like shown in the first picture and the left is jumping a little bit more around.. but there is
no fix position.
