I say wait for it. You aren't exactly suffering right now as far as GPU power goes, and things can only get better price/performance wise compared to a Titan as time goes by.

Anyways I think I'm just going to wait until the 9970 comes out and HOPEFULLY surpass the Titan in terms of raw performance. Because as of right now Nvidia has left me in disappoint.

No one really knows anything, it's all just speculation.
It's mainly because of the spike in rumor articles since the release of the 780.

Current rumors suggests that Sea Islands (HD8000) is a refresh of the HD7000 series and will be coming later this year, with Volcanic Islands (HD9000) coming in 2014, on the 20nm manufacturing process.
I'm not really sure what to believe at the moment, seeing as AMD themselves said 'Nothing but 7000 series cards throughout 2013' a few months ago, but then again the GTX 700 series may have changed their minds!

I'll be pretty pissed off if they end up only releasing a 89xx refresh of the 79xx cards.... seriously what do they take us for? And to top it off they would prob charge close if not the same price as what Nividia has to offer.

Lets hope not and hope they end up releasing the 9970 Volcanic Islands this year.

not to much different than the 8800 - 9800 - gts250 or the hd5xxx to hd6xxx series. I think it must be common practice, a "you buy what we sell and like it" mentality. Personally I am going to wait a while see where things go. The 79xx are no slouches and can max out everything I play.

I wouldn't hold your breath. The 8k series is GCN 2.0. It's just a refinement on the 7k series just like the Nvidia 5k series was a refinement of the 4k series. This kind of stuff happens all the time and is similar to Intel's tick tock release cadence.

This made me laugh on the other hand I considered it for a moment since guru3d said the MSRP was 800 euro after tax.
That seemed like a pretty sweet deal considering the Zotac one comes with 5 years of warranty biggrin.gif

I personally don't believe the next 8970 or 9970 which ever it is has these specs.

But you lose nothing by waiting.

They will keep making Titans, the added competition on the market will force nVidia to lower prices etc, and you get the actual results/actual hardware specs from AMD release. I just left 7970s myself as I have no need of waiting. I would stick with the 7970 till Christmas or until launch and then make a decision.

Just my thoughts.
