will a 3570k bottleneck?

Thread Starter
so im a freshman in highschool ( 9th grade 15 years old) i have been working on my pc for awhile now and i am getting a summer job making at least $2000. I'm pretty much done with my pc except a psu and graphics cards. i want to go all out and get 2 gt 780's superclocked. so I'm wondering if a 3570k at 4.5ghz would bottleneck 2 780's. right now i currently have an asus vs248h-p. (yes i know i shouldnt get two if im playing at 1080p) im wondering if you can really tell the difference between a 1080p monitor and a 1440p. If there is a big difference i might just sell my asus and go for a 1440p. (I love eyecandy if you can't tell already.biggrin.gif:D:D ) Also, is their only 1080p and 1440p monitors out there? if there is what is there beside 1440 and 1080? are they between 20 and 26 inches? i can only fit a 26 inch on my desk. =) thanks for the help. one more thing. is their a 1440p monitor for gaming that has a fast response time like my asus that has a 2ms time? or does it even matter if it's 5ms because we cant tell the difference right? I will be playing fps games like bioshock and crysis 3 and so on on highest settings i can go but i also like to play some mmorpgs like guild wars 2 and so on.

if i dont get anyhelp with the monitors here il go to the monitor section. i just didnt want to make 2 posts.
sorry for my laziness i have been up 15 hours and have school tomorrow.redface.gif

I think the 3570k is gonna do fine @4.5. However, wait for someone to reply and can tell you for sure. Someone with 2 titan's might give you a slight idea of how it will do. or 2 680's OC'd

As for the monitors, i do not own a 1440p. I own a 1080p. But i've been thinking about the upgrade myself. I've had numerous of people telling me that it's absolutely amazing to go onto a 1440p panel, so i think it's safe to assume it's worth it.

Besides, if you're gonna go 780's you'll want the 1440p. Else you're just wasting the money on a second 780.

Good luck!

I think it is almost entirely based on what games you going to play with this rig?

I have seem my 4.7ghz 3770k bottlenecked the CF 7970s eyefinity at certain games.

5760X1080 is something else, i would go for 1440p if not 1600p(u3014/zr30) since you like eye candy, think about Yamakasi Catleap Q270 "2B Extreme OC" 1440p at 120hz devil.gif

Most of those games are incredibly easy to run, except for DayZ and ArmA III (ArmA II inclusive). There really isn't a reason to get a 780 SLI, or a single 780 for that matter. The games that you play at the resolutions that you play at are just not demanding enough for such a powerful and expensive system. I have a 680 with a 3570k, and I play most, if not all of the games that you listed, and my frames never drop from 60 (I use v-sync).

how does an i7 @ 4.7Ghz bottleneck dual 7970's??

if this is the case users with an FX chip must be lagging hard regardless of the clocks headscratch.gif

anyone have proof of this bottleneck?
