Hmm how bout 3-way CF 3x 6970 or 3x 7970,
another idea is put them together with HD 6990 to make it Quad CF config..

^this. 2x7990 might make you sad. For benching it might be cool but for everyday use? Not really.
And if you really have the desire to do it anyway: Get one 7990 first and really check if you are unhappy with the performance.
If yes you can always get a second one...

Coreect me if iam wrong, what $500 dollar vishara are u talking about??? Got a link?

I know this is off topic, but I am a bit surprised this thread is 83 posts long since reading your text is almost impossible. As a helpful hint, it would be extremely helpful if you used correct punctuation, stopped using text phrases to replace real words (u instead of you) and only typed your question or comment instead of writing everything out that is going through your head at the moment.

Ah I thought about doing that but finding a 6990 these days is kinda hard- Ive seen a couple on ebay going for $400-$600 dollars,i still haven't seen a 6990 on ocn marketplace and I check everyday. The performance should be good with (2) 6970s and 1 6990 that's 4 gpus back in the day I think this was considerd by many the ultimate gaming setup! Wouldn't mind trying it honestly
Yanks theres no need for that man- Is someone forcing you to read this thread>? We can switch languages if u prefer? Maybe Serbian? Bulgarian? Russian>?..... What do you do go around checking for miss-spelled words on ocn all day? You must have ALOT of time on your hands buddy I envy you lol

The thing that really gets me is this..............You try and be a nice guy and yet no matter what you do you have critics like this yanks guy that's so fast to point out a miss-spelled word here and there! Well thank you for correcting my English for me I appricate it, better yet what have you done on ocn that made you a better person? Other then of course checking peoples threads for miss-spelling? Iam trying to do something nice and you have to come in here and try and bash me? That's really messed up! I would say your either a kid or some kind of snob that lives with mommy and daddy and gets whatever he asks for! .............. Instead of focusing on my spelling I think you should worry about your people skills and how to talk to people! Have a nice day

CPU wise I would wait for haswell.

GPU wise I would wait to see how the new AMD Drivers with Latency controls work when using multiple GPU's. If it's an improvement then go for the 7990, otherwise go for the 690.

Grats on the new job BTW.

Pretty much this as well. I didn't want to bring it up cause I know what it's like to have your heart set on something, but 'tis the truth.

It was not my intention to upset you, only to give some advice on how to help us give you better suggestions. I am 31, married and living on my own, but thank you for your concerns there. I actually wanted to come in and give advice to assist you, but it's very difficult to follow you since your thought process is all over the place. You have chosen a topic, however, that people on OCN love which is AMD vs. Nvidia, so your thread has gotten a ton of responses like all AMD vs Nvidia threads do.

If you would like my suggestion, I would not quadfire your 6970s with a 6990 because not only is that a power hungry solution, but the drivers are a headache and the scaling between GPUs is worse as you add more. I would either go with a pair of 7970s or 780s along with a new 3770K or 4770K processor (when it gets released). You are going to get 1,000 different suggestions, but ultimately it is a decision you have to make.

I wish more people on this board had this sort of unbiased recommendation attitude.
