the only thing that makes physx more relevant then tressfx is its marketing ...

Not very surprising....was expecting a different looking card but instead we get a cut down 7990 shroud

ultimately what it comes down is performance after that comes how loud and how well that cooler is doing its work and only in the end its looks (you can always get OEM card with cool looks anyway)
I think it will probably be slightly slower then 780 at 100$ lower price.

I'm so keen for these cards.

I hope they release these soon, I've been saving up for a new system, and with Haswell's release looks like its going to be an HD 8000 / Haswell rig that I'm building!

I plan to CF a pair of 8950's, to drive my 3 monitors and actually have playable frame rates in Eyefinity unlike my poor HD 6870 2GB...

Oh well, I'm proper pumped now! thumb.gif

Or you could go with ivy bridge and use the money you save to buy 8970's wink.gif

Haswell doesn't really cost more than IB and it's much more fun to tweak.

Newer and performs better too. Mobos also have much better features.

Not everyone gets 5.2 i7s Alatar tongue.gif

You'd probably say IB was more fun to tweak vs SB, but my 2600K and 3770K beg to differ.

You can't buy Haswell cheap second hand.
I totally agree with the better mobo features and a upgrade path in according to vr-zone 2 years (I think it'll come earlier though)

IB is only more fun than SB if you're using some sub-zero solution. Otherwise it's a straight forward process OCing a 3770K. Haswell though brings some nice new settings that you get to mess with that actually affect the OCs you get. Doesn't matter how high the OC is, it's still more fun than SB/IB.

And yeah I know there's quite a lot of variation with haswells but the main point is that the cost is about the same. So there's no point in investing in an old platform.
