[Chiphel} New specs of Radeon HD8000 leaked - Page 8

Strange that the 8950 isn't a gimped Curacao/8970 in the same way that the 7950 is a gimped Tahiti/7970. Seems like a lot of potential profit lost by simply throwing all those slightly defective dies out. thinking.gif

There was talk of two concurrent 8xxx series. One that is found in OEM computers only, being rebranded 7xxx parts, and one for the consumer space. Either way, it's just speculation.

the 6 series on the other hand sucked big time mad.gif

Maybe I'll finally drop my 5970 for something! Lets hope its like the 5xxx series was. *crosses fingers*

Based on these 'specs', can anyone estimate percent increased over 7970?

why not? GTX780 is like 20-25%faster than a GTX680 or more...

For a price of $600.
3GB more vRAM than gtx780 and 17% more bandwidth. thumb.gif

Power of titan for almost half the price! biggrin.gif

It's only good if they sort out the driver issues. Who cares about high frame rates when it's not consistent. If they sort out the multi card crossfire stutter I may swap to the red side just for 5 monitors.

They already fixed the stutter issue on single cards. CFX is next this summer.
By the time 8000 series will be released stutter won't be an issue at all with AMD cards.

according to those % increases wouldn't the 8950 be equal or a bit behind the 8870? maybe this is not gaming performance gains in those percentages?

5970 is still a strong card, i had dual 5850's not too long ago and it would eat through anything at 1080p.. problem was the fact that BF3 and a few other games didn't like CFX for some odd reason (I gave up after installing numerous drivers and profiles)

I just want AMD to hurry up and release the 8 series so I can get a GPU at a decent price..

A vast majority if "specs" are faked, just to drive traffic to their site where they can make money off of ads. This site in particular is so rotten and untrustworthy, they are even using photos from other sites and putting their water mark on the photos to give the illusion that they have information that they don't. It is obvious that they don't have access to these cards, if they did, they wouldn't be stealing photos from other sites.
