Shush you biggrin.gif Aren't you waiting on drivers in June?

It's like saying a 6 cylinder Camaro on Nitrous can beat an 8 cylinder one in the quarter mile. no kidding.
Or Lance on steroids can win the Tour de France 7 times....again no kidding. If all the other riders were using too, oh wait, I think they all do anyways lachen.gif nevermind

I love watching Titan owners squirm over GTX 780.

However I am hoping hardware.fr does another comparison between how press samples and retail samples boost, with GTX 680 it was interesting and not all Nvidia GPUs with GPU boost perform the same.

I actually went water on 670 SLI only because I modded BIOS and use 1.21V daily (stock limit is 1.17v), but the temps under water are usually below 40C under load, raising to maybe 50C under extreme full load. with air cooler they were never passing 70C, but I simply hated the noise of those small fans (even at 80% they were bothering me) ... some people don't mind that, but since my comp is standing in living room and running on near silent case+rad fans only (AP-15 + AP-45) then you see, it didn't make much sense to me to keep the stock GPU fans (added noise under load).

how do you like your 780 SC? smile.gif

Ahhh, what brand/cooler did your 670's have? My 670 windforce 3 was doing 1372mhz 24/7 oc with 7160mem at about 50% fan speed and peak temps of 64 max avg was 63c, which was a slight amount of added humming/air noise but still extremely quiet, with the modded bios. I sort of wish I hadn't sold it with how good a clocker it was, honestly smile.gif.

My 780 ACX SC is still with UPS, scheduled for Thursday frown.gif. On the plus side I only paid $617 shipped for it on a hot deal, so I'll live the extra couple of days waiting.

At least twice...those coolers are crap.i hit 80c auto fan on titan at stock.

Lol.... nope.

My card has been perfectly smooth since the first day i got it.

using cars to make a point with gpus?
Not gonna work. Also it cost money to add Nitro.

All this comparison comes form price. I am sure the 6 cylinder Camaro doesnt cost $35,000 more than the 8 Cylinder Camaro.

I think that's the point everyone is getting at.

woah, man you had an awesome clocker 670! smile.gif wish mine were that good ... nah, mine are both average (even had a third one for a moment, but it was topping out at same max clocks ... and had a bad VRM too LOL) ... mine are topping out just below 1300MHz with modded BIOS. both cards are pretty closely matched, nearly same. I run memory oced to slightly over 7GHz daily, max I think was 7.1GHz.
I usually run them at 1267Mhz daily in SLI, leaving higher clocks only for benching sometimes when I get bored.
my cards are regular 2GB reference models based on short PCB versions, not like 680 PCB based AIO models (e.g. 670 FTW).

for water cooling I am using XSPC Razor full cover blocks with backplates (additional cooling for memory chips on the back), I am actually very happy with them smile.gif

best of luck with your new 780 SC! have fun with it! thumb.gif
$617 is a very decent price for SC model at near launch time where reference base models were set at $650.

Seriously, I don't know of any Titan owners unsatisfied by the purchase due to the 780. Everyone else keeps bringing it up though specifically 7970 users most of the time. To be perfectly clear, Nothing about the 780 makes me feel like I made a bad purchase. I wanted it so I bought it. For this generation of games I'm playing, it's perfect. That's all I can ask for now. And I might buy another this week and put them both under water at 1200. I'm not going to put the 50k vr though... Alatar biggrin.gif

The other side of all the sniping about those that purchased Titan, not you, is the question of what happens when Nvidia pushes the envelope forward. Is this a good or bad thing for Nvidia/AMD/Intel, or consumers in general? Sure there are those that Price is always a concern. Fine go buy a used GTX 580 that will play everything today within reason. There was always going to be a next card that hit the Titan's performance in some measure or resolution. Always. and in todays electronic market it's a matter of weeks not years that you get to be at the top tech.

I'm happy for those that get the 780. It's the same card really, just different horsepower targets and options (Titan has Navigation & 18 inch rims, they spin too) biggrin.gif

Those are ridiculously good temps for that card. I would hit over 75C and would eventually creep over 80C. But my fan profile was different and ran at 20% speed most of the time. My OC was slightly lower at 1345mhz with 7k+ mem. Did you do a BIOS flash? I think I did the 1.18V flash and it only gave me 10 more mhz rolleyes.gif There is a 1.21V bios flash now?

I was never really satisfied with custom coolers though as they fans were always whiny. Happy with my 4 slot cooler now biggrin.gif

That's a nice card and a sweet deal for $617, can't do any better then EVGA for support either.
