GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, is proud to present today the GIGABYTE BRIX, an ultra compact PC, combining an incredibly small and sleek form factor chassis design with a choice of high-performance Intel® Core™ processors, fast SSD storage, integrated Wi-Fi, USB 3.0 plus dual digital display outputs.
Combine this with Nvidia's streaming tech, and you've got a MONSTER.

Doesn't that require nVidia GPU? You are not going to fit that into that small chassis. I agree on this needing an APU.

I want 30 to build folding rigs lol
No if you could tie these to a solar battery power setup you'd be in business!
Hamster wheels have too much down time, replacements are time consuming.

NUC is an Intel intative for very SSF PCs.... there's nothing that would prevent Gigabyte or anyone else from using AMD. In fact, there are other SFF that predate NUC by years (nano/pico/mobile-ITX).

That would increase the volume by like 30%...

Pretty neat to be seeing more of these pocket PC's.
no...the cpus are too crummy for this application. You won't be gaming, nor using these machines with extremely expensive software that gives you GPU acceleration. Intel was a good choice.

AMD is only for dedicated GPUs and ULTRA LOW POWERED markets. That's it. The crappy CPU performance is what is holding back AMD. Pair it with whatever GPU you want, you're major bottleneck is still that CPU. No point in slabbing on in this box as it's just not going to be used.

An APU is more than sufficient for light tasks. I've tried an i3 and an A4 laptop before, relatively minimal difference in non-gaming tasks. Price difference? The i3 laptop cost around $50 more.

this would make an awesome Pfsense or moonwall router / firewall ! this is exactly what ive been looking for. Apart from uber expensive ultrabooks no cpu offers such low wattage not even an undervolted atom. they all need an itx chassis and a few fans. I dont know the price but if its cheap i think this would perform the task mentioned really well, whilst keeping cool and silent near your existing kit where its on show and any noise would be heard. a raspberry pi isnt great for pfsense atm, its been done but not with great results.
