little help with a budget build

Hello

Thinking about putting a build together, was thinking I7 920 because I've got a decent cooler for that socket but what would give simular power from a amd chip, not had one since thunderbird lol

I need ram cpu and motherboard

what would be good equivalent or should I just stick with the i7 920

Any advice appreciated

I would step up to the FX 8350 over the i7 920.

Just had a quick look around and it seems the price of them are much more and I don't think I need that little bit of extra power for just playing a few basic games and browsing

Not got a budget as such nor am I looking any certain parts. I've had a i7 920 before so I know what's what with that

I7 920 go for around 50-60 quid
Motherboard 40ish
Ram 15-20

So if I can get all that for £100-£120 I would be happy and it would be fine for the games i will play, but if i can get something from amd for less money for the same power it would be better

I've got all the other bits from my sig that I didn't sell last year

I think your best bet would be checking out the OCN Marketplace to see who's willing to ship to/within the UK.

If you get a FX 83xx, get the 8320, cheaper and can be OCd with the stock cooler as high as the 8350.
