Looks good,

Go into BIOS and turnm of all power saving, up the mullti by 1, test with P95 for 5mins then repeat it, do this untill you can't boot or fail P95, then restore your last good settings and report back

Go into the BIOS and change the multiplier from 17 to 19. Press F10, save settings and then boot into windows. As simple as that. After doing that download cpuz, take a screenshot and upload it here.

If you want, a good but still cheap mobo is the one that I have, it has VRM heat sinks and you certainly run less of a risk overclocking with those.

okay i just started to following this thread. i have the same processor and i have mine clocked to 4.1ghz stable. but for you i dont know what kind of cooling you have so ill give you my first clock i made at very stable without having to change voltages. this one will give you a jump from 3.4mhz to 3.9mhz a 500 mhz jump which shouldnt be to bad for you even for air cooling.

check my thread for more amd 965 overclocks as im trying to get to 4.4mhz stable
http://www.overclock.net/t/1399820/amd-965-be-overclocking-help-please#post_20173361

3.9mhz overclock
my core speed is 3914.26
multiplier is 19
bus speed 206.03
ht link 2060.03
and voltage is 1.488
