Onboard audio on MVF is pure marketing. It's a Realtek codec. Probably ALC889, or 898. OC formula has better VRM, and it's cheaper, but offers no WiFi.

Also for your needs, you can get a much cheaper board.

You can do just fine with MSI Z77A-GD55 and up, or Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H and up. Asus line up from P8Z77-V. Just get a sound card if you want to with saved money.

AFAIK GD55 OCed near 5.5Ghz, and about 6Ghz for D3H. Their VRM would run such frequencies on warm side though.

If you want something to stay cool, look for UD4H/UP4/UD5H, or GD65 and up. MPower isn't a bad choice for its price, and of course previously mentioned P8Z77-V and up.

Asrock Z77 OC Formula clocks better in my opinion...Mpower does the same job....even the cheaper-priced Gigabyte Z77X UD3H does wonderful overclocking..but since u hv the right money on Asus MVF, u can go with it. Good luck. thumb.gif
