Laptop gaming from a couch? How is it?

Thread Starter
Right now I have an iPad but I'm thinking about buying a Macbook Air (or similar) so that I can sit on the couch and play some PC/OSX games while my wife watches TV, etc.

I already have a nice dedicated gaming rig downstairs in my office, but I was just thinking about something smaller I can use on the couch...

I'm not expecting to play FPS games, but some indie games or strategy/turn-based games could be really fun.

Is anybody else doing this?

I've tried a trackball from the couch and it's just not for me, so I would either use the trackpad on the laptop or maybe a mouse using a book as a mousepad, etc.

I have an Acer laptop that I just use for general usage and I don't have any problems. I went to my local discount store and picked up a TableMate II. Gives me enough room for a laptop and mouse. Not sure if this fits your bill, but it's worth a shot.

Do you play them on your couch or on a desk?

I'm wondering mostly about using a laptop exclusively on a couch...

I just played a level of Metro LL sat on my sofa, using a mouse on a table mat, that was sat on a cushion.
And I was happy as thumb.gif

So yeah, true laptop gaming that time biggrin.gif

And I took a screenshot!

Cooling pad, and make sure the laptop can have the mouse pad disabled too IMO!
And an LED lit keyboard is nice too smile.gif

Your wrists will hurt a lot if you're not at the right level. Just a headsup. Might need to use some books to raise your laptop/mousepad
