Most likely, and buy online and on eBay if you can; you get some insane deals there. Most likely we'll still be able to get UK games though, we were on the 360.

I have zero love for the xbox, but hating based on this is just dumb.
It has region locks but they're not enforced as obviously as the Xbox's, a lot of Aussie's got the NA version of L4D2 because ours was gimped (Apparently we're all 13 year old school shooters waiting to happen) and Valve didn't seem to care.

Outside of gaming it would in its price-range, although once you're talking i7s and the like it's going to definitely not be a killer.

That's wrong, a lot of Aussie's used NA L4D2 keys specifically because it wasn't the gimped version...I think Steams region locking is mainly dependent on publisher, so while Activision might want you to not get a cheap copy of CoD, Valve might not care.
You know, just like how some console games are region free?

Have you got an NA 360? Or a UK one? I don't know for everywhere but try playing games from the other region on it and see just how unlocked the 360 is.
