[IGN] Blizzard's Titan MMO Delayed, Reset - Page 2

MMO's are changing. F2P mmo's are rising, and gamers are starting to want more out of new mmo's. I guess this is a smart move for them game-wise, but financially this is going to sting. WoW is on the decline so who knows how many subs they'll have left by 2016.

I definitely got away from WoW because of the Subscription. I don't believe in it. I think GW2 currently has the best model where you can use your real money if you want but its never necessary. I'll never shell out that much money on a game ever again. Make it 100$ at launch if you feel the need but I definitely won't be paying you monthly just to sign in. I just calculated the amount of money I've given blizzard and it makes me sick which is probably somewhere around the realm of 1500$
post #14 of 66
a little disappointed but i hope this the better. As many have stated before maybe it felt alot like WOW and needed fresh legs.
If wow lost 1 million subs each year for the next 5 years, it would still be the biggest MMO. That being said I hope that they lose at a faster rate b/c I want Titan out now.

Or at minimum, Blade and Soul to keep me preoccupied for the next few years smile.gif

The direction Blizzard is headed in confuses and saddens me.

I lost interest in project Titan when I found out that they're releasing Diablo III on the PS3/4.

Let's face it, they simply aren't interested in keeping a fanbase anymore and want to appeal more to casual gamers/console players.

A sad truth that we all eventually have to swallow.

What does diablo 3 on ps4 have to do with your interest in Titan mmo? /

Blizzard is interested in keeping a large fan base.... who exactly should they be targeting? angry overclock.net nerds?

Seems like they've pulled an Everquest Next.

I hope its good when its released because by then their existing IP's will have been milked pretty thoroughly, pretty much only Starcraft would have anything left.

Maybe, I thought 5.3 was the last raid in the expansion but apparently not.

"We first reported on Titan back in 2011. Blizzard chief operating officer Paul Sams told us in an interview that “we have taken some of our most experienced developers and put them on [Titan]. We believe we have a dream team. These are the people who made World of Warcraft a success. We are going to blow people’s minds.”"

Not too surprising I don't think but it is a bummer longtime fans of their good work don't get to see anything from Titan this year (so it seems). Sub. model is going to be very hard to pull off again at the WoW scale and maybe that was the plan along with some of those RMAH bits.

I would agree with Lovidore regarding confusion and a bit of sadness with Blizzards direction in the past few years. I'll keep holding out hope for now that they are actually interested in making games they themselves love as it has worked and succeeded in the past. This news could be a blessing in disguise. I doubt it rolleyes.gif
