Upgrading from a GTX 260 - Page 3

Thread Starter
Guys - let's not have an AMD/Nvidia war here.
My preference for NVidia mostly comes from the extra features; 3D vision, PhysX, and possibly wireless video transmission to SHIELD in the future. My brother has an AMD card, and I know he got a great deal for its performance.
I'd say my question is mostly answered. I'm still kind of curious just how long it might take for prices to fall - t00sl0w suggested that it could take over half a year, but maybe I'll just wait until a few cards are announced and see what changes.

There won't be much or anything at all in terms of new features, GTX 760 Ti and the GTX 770 will just be GTX 670 and GTX 680 rebrands at different price points.

lol you notice the games have been included for 6 months and market share for the 3 quarters aka 9 months hasn't changed, seems to be working.

Fan boys like you will buy the more expensive but worse performing nvidia cards just like Intel fan boys will. I buy bang for buck because im not brand loyal. I buy what is best for me for my money.

GTX770 is out, its excellent and it is $400. The 6 series prices should start to drop within the month.
But if you can stretch for $400, I'd get the 770.

Cheers

I think that the gtx 770 would be the best choice as you do not want to overclock, and having the gtx 770 record for you with a lower performance hit would be useful for your recordings. We don't know yet how good the recording quality is though.

Otherwise the gtx 670 is at a good price right now.

For planetside 2, it really really helps to overclock the CPU.

For ~$20 more you could get the 3gb version.

Just a little future proofing if you intend to have it for a while thumb.gif

so intel is less performance for more money? why is every rig in your sig intel then??? lol but whatever man. i would still save for 780 over the 770 if you really want to op but maybe even wait on 760ti which should be pretty good.

Learn to read. Amd was faster before core 2 duo conroe. I had a cheaper faster 3200+ Venice when all the fan boys were paying more for a p4. I don't have loyalties to amd or Intel or nvidia. Had 8800 gts when it was faster than ati cards. Blindly paying more for a 660ti vs a 7950 which is faster than a 670 when over clocked is fanboism. Even a ocd 7870 is faster than a 660ti as a member here compared them both stock in his wife's rig and a 7870 will oc much more. Just Crazy to be brand loyal.

I bought Intel when they were faster for similar prices and before the Allendale built a budget x2 3600+ for my son. Basically amd or nvidia or amd or Intel I buy for me not the company.
