I say if the Dice devs are putting in extra work to give extra maps and content then they deserve some compensation. The more money they make, the more time and man power they will have budgeted to make our games better. I just wish it would all go to Dice and not EA.

This is becoming a joke and I hope everyone who is going to buy this feels ashamed. You are responsible for todays state of gaming.

I hope you are satisfied when every game comes with microtransactions and launch day DLC.

This. I doubt they'd have included the content if they couldn't recoup their investment with a DLC fee here. I see no problem with this. In fact if anything it bolsters the image that they intend to support the game over time with improvements and additions.

Welcome to EA, they didn't win The Worst Company In America Golden Poo award twice in a row for nothing.

Agreed with both of these, as long people continue to buy and support this nonsense it will continue. I refuse to support any game with preorder DLC, day one or planned DLC before the games is released and will wait for the game to go on sale at a price I am comfortable paying.

Takes so much extra work to cut out maps and weapons that are already there in the finished product and then charge an extra fee to get access.

the cover art shows a Caucasian man presumably American or European but no Chinese men ? it also shows modern day b52 style bombers and American tanks ? Whats the premise of the DLC .. to defend Soil or attack Soil ?

Serious question

Looks like attack soil. Those large planes are also carrying cargo; something that would be a priority if you were attacking, but probably pointless if it was on your own land since cargo transportation would be by trucks and trains.

You've never bought a car before have you?

They're called optional extras. wink.gif

EDIT: And actually, the use of "day 1 DLC" and DLC in general is due to the cost of base games being lower than that of production costs.

I never saw where it said it was day 1 DLC....B2K wasnt day one...while I think it could have probably been with the regular game, it was an incentive for us to pre-order the game which generated revenue for Dice/EA....but B2K didnt come out for at least a month after its release.

I would imagine that is what will happen with this as well...and then every few months additional DLC's will be released...

And what is wrong with having planned DLC....this allows me to know that after 2-3 months of playing it and getting tired of the same thing....something fresh will be on the horizon to get me playing again...
