E6600 temp check

post #1 of 12
Thread Starter
My e6600 is at 3.6 ghz. and the load temp is about 57-62C perfectly stable hours of orthos no errors. Its about 70-75F in the room. Idle temps are about 40-45C. they jump around
CPU voltage 1.5v
ram voltage 2.0... Gskill HZ
memory timing-4.4.4.10
Front Side Bus/Cpu speed 400-
multiplier 9

what exactly is the threshold... asus probe says no more than 60, i beleive i actually saw a review of a guy's core 2 at about 75C and he was doin fine. do you guys think im safe or should i drop the multiplier to 8 and lower my vcore for a stable 3.2 just to be on the safe side

i has a tuniq tower, non lapped

use TAT (Intel Thermal Analysis Tool) and keep the core temp under 60*C.

75 is a bit too hot and 55 is a low maximum. Most people told me to basically stay under 60, but these conroes can take a bit more apparently. Monitor the temps using TAT and if you ever see them go over 60, dont freak out. That tuniq is really something heh? Do you have the fan running at full speed?

Using only TAT is bad advice as far as I'm concerned. TAT was designed for Intel mobo's and not anything else. Rely on your motherboard manufacturer's software, as well as TAT and others to keep tabs.

But like Cgrado said, you should shoot for under 60.

Try fsb=360
under cpu in bios:
C1E=auto (or enabled)
thermal control = auto (or enabled)
speed step = disabled
ex bit dis = up to you
mult = 9
vcore = auto.

I'm stable with those settings at 3.24 ghz, and idle/load should be ~ 30's/low 50's.

yea my tuniq is at full speed, this thing is pretty good. right now the load is at 50C.. its freezing at my house tho the electricity was out for aabout 16 hours and theres no heat in here. btw the paste hasnt even cured yet and its not lapped so idk. proly gona get some as5 and a lap job and keep the same settings. 3.6ghz on a 32A is pretty good i think

everytime i set my voltages on auto is gets jacked up, believe you me. i remember seeing my voltages over 2...you cant even set that on the p5b manually but that was the reading i got off of cpuz

Yes it automatically increases your voltage. Set it manually to 1,5V that should work.
