The 7970GE has perks of it's own that make it better then the 770. We still have yet to see if a 770 can out OC a 7970ghz yet.

Though Nvidia getting a jump on AMD for once is pretty fun to watch. Though gonna wait a couple mounts to see if AMD really is going to release a big die 28nm card.
Though I was eyeing up the gtx780 myself, just not going to get it if the 8970 is blatantly faster.

Um...no? What perks aside from Compute performance. 7970GHz has been around what 10-15 percent ahead of GTX 680 at most when OC'd. So considering the GTX 770 comes in at around that increase stock, and can still OC, it offers a significant deal compared to the 7970GHz if they were equally priced.

Lets not also forget PhysX which I find stunning games that support it, as well as the Frame Time issues amd is still battling according to their own statements.....

I think the 770 will give AMD some problems lol Unless they do cheaper which I think they cant afford to... But they will.

Well lets not forget that the 7970 has 3gb of ram with a 384 bus while the gtx 770 will only have 2gb of memory and 256bus.
So the gtx 770 will be a better choice for 1080p, but I doubt it will nerf the 7970 on the 1440p+ side
Lets not forget that physix can be ran on Cpu if thats really needed with an ATI/AMD card.

Anyway, with the price of the gtx 780, I highly doubt the gtx 770 will be price tagged under 450$

Nvidia pricing a product with some semblance of sanity? This i must see! In the unlikely event they do price this at $400 it's fantastic news as it means price drops for everyone. I could get another 7970 for $300 soon thumb.gif

But this is Nvidia, who are we kidding lol. $450 MSRP minimum.

BLT has the evga 770 for 428

Based on their 780 pricing that suggests a $399 MSRP. That would get AMD's attention.

Yea, that's not really a good point to throw out. The difference between running hardware Physx on an Nvidia GPU and trying to run it on the CPU is like a Yugo drag racing a Ferrari (yea, I went there lol)

Except two things you missed:

1. Trying to run Physx on CPU as a counter point is just absurd. Not even a competition. Unless of course you have a Intel six core, then your argument might, have ground.

2. Still missing the fact that AMD still has stutter issues in some games. Yes they admitted to be working on the frame time issue, but working on it still.....yet to be seen if it works.

And lets not forget the 770 is at stock......still has room for OC.
