Beeping inside case when moving mouse

Thread Starter
I'm not sure where the best place to post this is since I don't know where the problem lies, but anyways, for the past few days I've been getting a pretty annoying beeping sound coming from inside my case whenever I move my mouse and I can't understand why. I've tried using a different usb port, different mice, different drivers, etc. and while it might stop for a short period, it always seem to come back with a vengeance. Muting the volume on my computer does nothing because again, the sound is coming from inside my PC.

It's annoying but I can tolerate the sound for the moment, though it's starting to wear thin quick. I do wonder though if it could be indicative of a more pressing matter, like the integrity of some of my components like my power supply. The last thing I'd want to do is ignore it and have it fry my processor or GPU, if it happens to be on it's last legs.

It's worth noting that I recently re-installed Windows to fix some performance issues I was having with games. This beeping must have started a few days afterwards because I don't remember it happening immediately afterwards. Another issue I'm now having after reinstalling windows is that none of my USB 3.0 ports seem to work. Not sure if that's related or not.

One thing that's helped a bit is turning the polling rate on my Deathadder 2013 to 125 Hz from 500 Hz. The beeping is a lot more faint now than before, but I can definitely still hear it.

This looks like it is from your gpu from Whining.
do you experience this problems in programs as well?
and just to make sure its gpu whining is it like a hummmm, or a beep, hummm, beep, hummm, or is it just beep, beep ,beep?
if it is beep, beep , beep thenn it isnt gpu whining.

Also another thing to test if it is gpu whining , disconnect your gpu and use onboard video.

tell me what your results are ill get to you back this afternoon.

Edit: also download gpuz and monitor your Amps to the card, with my card high amps the higher the whine mine is. also nvidia might have blocked that from being displayed, so if it isnt there its ok.

You probably just never noticed it before. It's just the caps whining on your GPU as it does work to change the position of the cursor on the screen (yes, this does take GPU powah). It's normal and happens on most cards, most people don't notice it because there is white noise in the room putting off more sound than the whining or because their hearing isn't good enough to hear it.

Most likely whining like the others said. Pump up fan speed to cover it up.

The sound should go away if you're willing to turn off CPU power saving options from the BIOS.

I'm talking EIST disabled, all C states disabled. Mine goes away if I turn them off but it's not worth it to me. I rather live with the sound lol.
