GTX 770 listed at 428 usd - Page 3

i just purchased a 7970 for 400, i hope the 770s will be in the 500~ range cause it would upset me knowing i could have gotten a potentially better card for the same price. With the gtx 780s being 650, i can see the 770s being 450-550 easily. Its all speculation right now anyways, we will see by the middle of next week homies

Yeah, but you got 3-4 free games with it. Better deal all around. smile.gif

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 770 could end up being the product we expected it to be specifications-wise, but could surprise with pricing, according to retailers in Tokyo's Akihabara electronics shopping district. On paper, the GTX 770 is virtually identical to the GeForce GTX 680, albeit with higher core clocks, and a record memory frequency. The chip features 1046 MHz core, 1085 MHz of GPU Boost, and a staggering 7.00 GHz (1750 MHz actual) memory.

If true, the GTX 770 should be the highest-clocked GPU ever built. These clocks bolster the same 14-month old GK104 silicon we're all too familiar with. To support these clocks, the card draws power from a combination of 6-pin and 8-pin power connectors, and features a rated TDP of 230W. The card features a cooling solution identical to the GeForce GTX 780 and GTX TITAN, which should make it an attractive buy. The part that intrigued us the most is that retailers expect it to sell for 40,000¥, which should roughly convert to US $390~400. At this price, the GTX 770 should wreak havoc among AMD's ranks, and even make GTX 680 and GTX 670 much cheaper.

In Japan, it will sell for 40,000 Yen, which roughly translates into $390 – 400 / €390 – 400, according to exchange rates (give or take). Which raises another possibility, that the GTX 770 will be remembered more not for its own assets, but for being cheaper than its predecessors and, thus, forcing them to go through a major price cut themselves.

(I love what companies has to offer, sorry if AMD is often the winner)

I'm mad that you saved $10.00 on your XSPC block,.....mad.gif, anyways,... you should be able to put a nice overclock on that 780,..thumb.gif

I'm rolling with my gut, and stay puft. I say 399.99 for reference models. It would be the only thing to make sense, to compete with AMD and force the ball in their court.

As stated in this thread already 570 was ahead of the 480 but its price was lower at launch. IIRC same thing with the GTX 670 and the 580.

399 really undercuts amd badly and will truly be a great price if wee correct.
