How to be stay puft:

1. Bash AMD all day long because they aren't as good as Intel in some benchmarks
2. Defend owning an inferior monitor to the death

Your brand loyalty is absolutely astounding. You are one of the few people on this forum who are actually excited about Haswell, and Nvidia releases a card that's slower and more expensive than it's competition and you're defending it.

Even my monitor before I went Korean IPS had more pixels than 1080p. What's the point in getting a ton of fps and spending all this money on a gaming rig if you have 150ppi?

Why would you even consider pairing a $500 graphics card with a $120 1080p tn panel?

And how does this even make sense? The people using HD3000s don't game at 1600p, so then no one does and no one cares about 1600p? So people who buy $500 graphics cards should game at the same resolution as those on HD3000s? Is that really what you're claiming?

At this point you're delusional. I don't even know what to think about you anymore stay puft, you're either a master troll, not very bright, or working for Intel and/or Nvidia.

Being at 1080 doesnt mean youre using a cheapo panel. I've seen high res monitors and i much prefer gaming on my huge $1500 60" hdtv even though its just 1080. The extra pixels dont do it for me over the huge awesome size. But thats me smile.gif

In my opinion, gaming resolution is split really depending on what kind of games you play. shooters tend to prefer smaller resolutions at higher fps, while in games like RPG's and Racing for example, the extra resolution is really nice since the demand for FPS isn't as high.

1080p is the norm, it's what most people use now at days, 1440p screens are at a premium and you need a hefty GPU to be able to play with tolerable frames..

that's like saying "gaming with a GTX 580 is useless, go get a Titan if you really want GAME" lachen.gif

he isn't a fanboy. He is just a band wagoner but please don't bash 1080p, its alot harder to run a 120hz 1080p panel then it is a 1440p 60hz one.

A 770 would be marginally faster than a 7970 GHz, both at stock. Hardly a "whooping"
To whoever said that a 7970/770 is more than enough at 1080 (can't find the post think it was here) there are quite a few games that its not even enough for. Such as metro LL and also WOW crysis 3. I just got this game tonight and its insane. The graphics are extremely nice but it has brought my 7970 to its knees. Even at 1250mhz with the game maxed out but no AA im averaging in the mid 30s to 40s in the first level at least and dropping even into the mid 20s. GPU is pegged at 99%.

I have no idea really. I just know the Ghz edition is not XT2, it's the exact same chip as the 7970 but with more voltage for higher base clocks.

Nope. Most 780s are very close to being even with my Titan. My 7970 @ 1250 was a considerable amount behind my Titan in every bench or game I tested.
