Help me find a new mouse/ mouse pad

Thread Starter
Hello all, I am seriously wanting to upgrade my mouse considering I have had the same mouse model for over 10 years. The one I am using now I have used for the last 5 years and the one before it still works awesome just the logo wore off. So what mouse do I use might you ask?

I use a Logitech Trackman Marble

Yes I have used one of these for a LOOOOOONG time. I like the feel of it and everything but the major downside is that there is no scroll wheel.
Now you can argue that I can use SetPoint to change the programmable buttons to scroll but that isn't the point.

I am looking for a "normal mouse" you could say, one that has multiple DPIs maybe for gaming things that require precision, I for sure want a great scroll wheel, most importantly I want something that is comfortable. Using my Marble I can literally lay my hand on the mouse, talk about comfort. As a bonus I really want something aesthetically pleasing.

As far as a mouse pad, I really just need something that would pair well with the mouse you guys may suggest. Something the mouse would basically glide over liquid smooth but also give me good accuracy.

1. What's your grip style?
Palm Grip, I believe.
2. What's your sensitivity?
High, I would like to move the mouse as little distance possible but lower dpi to get better accuracy.
3. What's your maximum budget?
Anything under $150.
4. Do you want additional buttons?
I really don't mind, maybe for weapon switching in games it would be great.
5. What games do you play?
All Genres.
6. Do you mind about prediction?
I don't think my mouse has prediction so I don't have any experience with that.

Mouse Pad.
7. Hard or cloth?
I don't mind as long as it looks nice and works well.
8. Rough or smooth?
Smooth but accurate
9. Which size approximately?
Large would be nice
10. What's your maximum budget?
If I can get the mouse and mousepad both for less than $150 I would be a happy camper.

I'm currently using a Logitech G500 with a Steelseries QcK Mini mousepad. The mouse is usually around 50 or 60 bucks, sometimes a little less. It's got multiple DPI settings and two scroll modes (smooth and sort of clicky, can't think of a better way to describe it). The mouse pad comes in different sizes (I think four) and looks quite nice. See what you think.

Please use the standard form for these requests from the sticky (http://www.overclock.net/t/1139543/the-mouse-suggestion-thread), it makes it a lot easier to recommend a mouse. Or post there

Thank you, I updated my OP. I completely missed that sticky, It may have to do with it not actually "popping out" at you lol

I heard the G500 has a "loose" scroll wheel, Is that true? Have you had any issue with yours?
Yes the wheel is total **** , very loose and not very comfortable to use , also the sides have really rough texture , i didn't like it , go with g400s or deathadder 2013 or zowie fk \ am if you want optic sensor , if you want laser get sensei raw rubberized , i have it and i'm in love with it

im not sure you can upgrade to anything from that thing rolleyes.gif

but srsly get a G400 or the 's' variant if u like the paint job better thumb.gif and nice big (if you have the space) soft mousepad like a Goliathus, QcK, PureTrak or one of the Artisan pads off amazon (if you are a total baller) like a Hien SOFT (and whatever size you prefer). the G400 mouse is also an amazing palm grip mouse (its also nice to claw as well) which you said is the style you use.

maybe buy some extra mouse feet and call it a day. you will be set for a long time.

I'm not sure what you mean by "loose", but if you mean that it wobbles a little from side to side, yes. It hasn't created any problems for me at all. And the sides of the mouse are rough, just so you can get a better grip on it. I don't mind it though, as it's not rough enough to even catch my attention. One thing that I forgot to mention is that is has an adjustable weight, which could come in handy at some point.
