Material For Temporary Case?

Hey guys--
I plan on building a mITX Haswell rig, but the case I plan on using, the NCase M1, isn't going to be in production for another month or two.
What should I have my components resting on/on top of so that I can still use my rig without a case?
I've heard and seen people use cardboard before, but I've also heard that cardboard poses a risk of building up a static charge.

Any ideas? Anti-static bags? I don't know!

you can get some ply wood and set it on that are , get wood and drill holes for standoff's and have the bored off the wood for awhile ,

if not a plastic shelf ,some tile (tile yes floor tiles) ,
