antec three hundred mod - Page 2

So I'm still in the planning phase of this build but, I think I'm going to go with the Antec Kuhler H2O 620 Liquid CPU Cooler System. The tubing is 13" long and that should be just enough, and it has a low profile pump/block. I also noticed that the 120mm intake fan mounting on the front of the case is offset about ¾” to the side panel of the case. It may give me enough room to mount the rad sideways instead of up and down to account for the end tank / tubing if I mount it with the tubing toward the back side of the case.

This may be a 2 phase build also.

Phase 1 would be to removing the 3.5" HD bays. Cut the new vent on the top of the case for the H110 GPU cooler, and paint the inside flat black.

Phase 2 is "The Red Mod" on the GPU.
I don’t like the zip tie method to do the water cooler mod to the GPU and it sounds like a nightmare to get a bracket from Dwood, but NZXT does have a prototype bracket. This bracket is due out by year end, so 6 months one way or the other.

Those of us that do this mod must be ahead of the curve. I can’t wait until the GPU manufactures (AMD RADEON / NVIDIA) get there stuff together. Maybe they could start making easy plug n play bolt on brackets with the ¾ pin fan adaptor to the GPU fan plug as a option on their cards. I don’t even care if the bracket has universal bolt pattern, but NIVIDA is the only one that has different bolt holes. All AMD GPU have 53.2mm X 53.2mm bolt pattern. I just want my bracket to say AMD or ATI insted of NZXT.

I also found these heatsinks, Icy Vision HD6900 VRM Cooling Enhancement Kit and ENZOTECH Memory Ramsink, for the Vram and the MOSFET.

Another idea instead of purchasing converter brackets is to buy any of these. 3 x 5.25 Bay to 4 x 3.25 Slots

There are other models but these tend to be the cheapest. I personally bought the Coolermaster one due to price.

Phase one is under way. biggrin.gif All the extension cables for the cable management are here, the Corsair H110 just arrived, and the PWM fan controller is here too. Just waiting on a few more parts (fan grills & hard drive mounting bracket) to come in to start this first phase of construction. thumb.gif

So phase one is finally done. The inside of the case has been painted flat black, plus a ton of new cable management holes in the MOBO tray. I also have my new Corsair H110 A.I.O. cooler installed on the top of the case with 4 Bgears b-Blaster 140mm fans in a push/pull configuration as exhaust out the top. I also have 3 Cooler Master 120mm Silent Case Fan running as intake, 2 in the front & 1 in the side panel, and a 4th as a exhaust out the back. The 4 fans on the cooler and the two intake 120mm fans on the front of the case are plugged in the new PWM fan controller (Sunbeamtech PL-RS-6 Rheosmart 6 Fan Controller). The rear exhaust fan and the side intake fan are plugged into the MOBO fan header.

I’ve OC the CPU to 4.2GHz from 3.2 GHz stock. I ran Prime95 10 hours last night and maxed out with a temp of 56C. idle temp is around 33C.
