Here's to a new build idea, what are your thoughts on the Dell Precision 690

Hey all,

I know I'm new, but I'm getting ready to set forth on my own, and first ever, case mod endeavor. However, I need some ideas on how I should go about modding this system.

Current case:

Dell Precision 690

Does anyone have any suggestions for ways to render ideas for modification on it? I'm terrible with 3D rendering. The reason I'm looking forward to this mod is because it's something I haven't seen before. This tower is a full tower and currently has a single Xeon dual core, the expanded memory riser that makes it capable of handling 64GB of RAM, and currently has a 1KW PSU and 4 HDD's in it.

I will post some pictures up soon of it, but want some ideas from community members! I'm thinking I want to go the route of Black and Green.

Here are my goals as far as hardware.

Custom side window to show off the 2 Xeon CPU's and their water blocks, top mounted fans to pull heat off of the PSU, and other ideas from community members if y'all have any.

I will need to figure out a way to build a custom water block for the memory riser and a place to mount the radiator, reservoir, and pump. This is really just the beginning of the project. It's something I have always wanted to do, and this tower will hopefully provide me with a great opportunity to learn. It will take me a while to build, but hopefully some of you will be here during the process to help keep me going!

So as promised here are a few images of the currently stock Dell Precision 690. Sorry for the low quality, had to use my cell phone for now. Waiting for my good camera to find its way home.

Overview of internals, with a very inquisitive Cairn Terrier trying to figure out what I am doing:

Shot of the memory riser (there is another set of memory slots on the other side):

Shot of the currently empty CPU slot and the stock cooler for the Xeon:

Shot of the front:

Is it possible to have a mod move this to the Build Log section? I'm going to begin using this for my build log. I will detail the process as I go.
