Alphacool NexXxoS 420 raditor & 140mm fans help

Hello,

I saw Martin's Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 360 Radiator review and I am going to be building my own LIAN LI TECH STATION MOD setup with 2 x Alphacool NexXxoS 420mm radiators. I saw Martin's review on the 60mm version using 120mm fans. That being said what would be the best 140mm fan setup with the Alphacool NexXxoS 420 84mm vs 60mm version? Do I go with a PUSH/PULL setup mind you this will be right next to me on the desk so I am looking for as quiet as possible. But then again what is loud/quiet to me might be different to others as of now I am using a CORSAIR Hydro Series H80 with 2 x Typhoon GT1850's in a PUSH/PULL on high about 4ft away from my head and it does not bother me one bit. Specs below on what I plan on cooling..

CPU: Intel Haswell Core i7 4770K socket 1150 (waiting for reviews) or Intel 3930K socket 2011
GPU: 2 x EVGA SC GTX 780 watercooled SLI or add another one for TRI SLI
MOBO: Asus ROG Z87 or Gigabyte Z87X-OC Force or ASUS Rampage IV Extreme X79
MONITORS: 3 x ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms

So to some up my question in order.

1. Will the Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 420mm the new 84mm thick version be better then the 60mm version on cooling. (Note 2 x Alphacool NexXxoS 420mm and maybe a 140mm or 280 added if needed ONE LOOP)

2.Which 140mm fan to use I want a fan that has good RPM even though I might not use it at 100% but it's good to know I can crank it up if needed. Fans so far I been looking at COUGAR CF-V14HB 1200RPM, NZXT FN-140RB 1300RPM, Noctua NF-A14 FLX 1200RPM, Corsair AF140 1150RPM, SILVERSTONE AP141 1500RPM, and Swiftech Helix 1500RPM fan I am leaning on the last two fans as of now.

3. What type of PUMP or PUMPS should I used for the above for ONE LOOP setup. I saw there was low restriction on the UT60 360 on Martins review. I was thinking my DangerDen Monson D5 basic or XSPC Twin D5's Dual Bay Reservoir or Swiftech MCP35X2 with dual MCP355 pumps

Thanks for your input going to pull trigger on parts soon. And I will start a BUILD LOG on the LIAN LI TECH STATION as well. Here is what I plan on using for my Lian Li TECH STATION with the 2 x 420's on both sides push air into the case then blow hot air outside the back of the case. Note motherboard will be on top of case not inside. I plan on doing other stuff as well. biggrin.gif

There really aren't any good reliable 140mm fan reviews when on a rad. I've like the 140mm medium speed Yate Loons that I use on my SR1 560. At 7V they are quiet and the noise they produce is very pleasant. You could also look at using 120mm Gentle Typhoons w/ the 120mm to 140mm Bgears/Bitspower adapters. This actually performs better and I use them on both my Magicool 2x140mm slim and Coolgate 3x140mm, also w/ great results.

i have 6 akasa vipers on my 420 rad, and though they perform well, id wish i had opted for a quieter fan like the gelid silent 140mm pwm. a user here said it provided the best noise/performance from testing multiple fans, and another user suggested the new silverstone fhp-141 which he said that those fans provided optimal performance even at low rpm. the only drawback of the silverstone fan is that it is 140mm fan with 120mm mount.

The gentle typhoon 1850's I have like 20 of them new and I have 3 x 120/140 adapters so I just saved money there. Now are we only talking about a gt1850 with the adapter with a push only? I do not see any reviews on the monsta 80mm version review.

Now what about pump(s) single or dual remember one loop
Thanks smile.gif
