The build it still progressing, a little slow perhaps but i can't complain about whats been keeping me busy.
I found a similar powder-coating to the case and have 4 kg of it sitting next to me, which will get coated on the grill and a couple of other shrouds that i will make up later this week, should be done by next weekend and be in the case.
Bought some sleeving from Lutro0's customs, which took a while to arrive and when it did the green sleeve was yellow. I send a email to him and the customer service was great and they're sending it out to me soon enough. So i got down to sleeving some of the fans in the meantime. Which i think turned out well for my first time.
Some changes to the hardware, i managed to get a Sniper 3, which fits the case perfectly and will allow me to drop the sound card to the lowest slot and gives plenty of room for crossfire and maybe tri-fire later on.
This is how close the top rad fits in, the fan connectors are pretty much touching the rad (just the little plastic tab bit of them). There is a good amount of room to get the CPU power cables in as well which I think will look good in the end.
I also flipped the top radiator grill and drilled and press fit new self clinching nuts, so it all looks factory installed. The extra 10-20mm gained at the front of the case from one rad to the next is going to make tubing runs much easier, so was worth the hassle.
And i got a couple of new cards, looking to get the Aquacomputer waterblocks for them when an Australian retailer grabs them. I'll email The Koolroom later this week find out if theyre getting them and when. Might go with the nickel plated ones, i dont think the copper would fit this build and colour scheme.
Thinking about putting the old 2600k in a ITX build im going to do after this one, and replacing with a 3770k instead. Just need to find one, or buy one on ebay. Anyone think this is a bad idea?
