[hdwarriors] ‘Wii U Specs Fit Perfectly Together, GPU Several Generations Ahead of Current Gen’ - Page 4

What is sad though is that this is a $9.99 eShop title and it is getting praise for being so graphically pleasing. And if you read the two articles you see the creators are humble about it and are like uh...we are just using the console's potential and not porting.

Nintendo needs to release one of their games soon to show off what the Wii U can actually do.

Regardless, I am still picking one up.

It just needs some first party games, as you said.
Nintendo dropped the ball on the launch. Well probably no error, just released sooner than ready hoping to charge a premium with no competition.

It would be nice to get some hard numbers from Nintendo on what the GPU can do.

I bought the wii U at the midnight launch.. sold it 3 weeks later. Not that it was bad, it just wasn't for me. I'm more of a hardcore gamer, not competitive, but i like my games to be more than side scrolling platformers or angry bird type games. Having said that, i think the wii U is alright if it gets some more attention from nintendo themselves and they actually tried getting some decent games.

As far as the innovation side goes, i actually think the wii U is more innovative than the original wii. The controller was the best thing about the U, it worked really well as a tablet, it also was fun playing nintendo land with my gf and a few mates, chasing eachother around on the big screen, while the person hiding could only see their character on the little screen, while the camera recorded the persons face while trying to hide.. Plus playing black ops 2 multiplayer while walking around the house was aiiight.

Again, having said that i am really enjoying pc gaming at the moment so the wii U had to go as i just don't have time for both and i knew it was jus gonna sit their gathering dust eventually. I don't think it's too bad a system, certainly better than it gets credit for, but it is no powerhouse.

anything Nintendo makes is powerful/next-gen??? LOL!! rolleyes.gif
they've always used last-gen outdated-at-release hardware for as long as memory serves.

because the Wii was $100-200 cheaper than the others. economics. lower price = higher sales. it's that simple.

The Wii-U is probably the best kid based system while retaining some adult qualities. That's the thing, MS/Sony don't really cater to the child market. They have some aspects to it but Nintendo is extremely versed in the younger audience. While I'd say 13yr olds should be able to handle an XB/PS as you get younger it gets blurry. An 8yr old? I've had friends who let their kids play online with us, 6yr olds and such. The difference is, it was controlled and we were very polite. The truth, you can't really give a kid that young un-supervised play online.

While you can disconnect the console, so many games are still NOT child friendly. The best part about the Wii-U is that it has a huge amount of games that you can easily set as un-supervised. While this is a child friendly forum, you shouldn't be younger than 13 on here. And to that, most of us probably don't think about a child friendly console. Something that you can let your kid(s) play without thinking about it.

To be real honest, most people don't even think about what their kid(s) will do. The idea of prepubescent kids on CounterStrike is just.... It's not only annoying, these kids are talking with adults with languages that they don't actually understand. They are easily introduced to things that should not be in their reality, which sickens me that parents do not care enough. That's another topic but as far as things go, I think it's fair to discuss what consoles are child friendly and which ones are more so.

I kinda regret buying it.

Guess what, a HD8330 is several generations ahead of current gen consoles. Saying it's generations ahead doesn't really tell us how strong the GPU is.

I still think the Wii U is a piece of garbage in terms of hardware specs, if it can't even manage a game like Super Mario Bros in 1080p natve.

At least the Wii U has Rayman Legends 1080p 60fps.

There isn't even a Super Mario Bros in 1080p yet.

All this trash talk. I'm gonna use watchdogs by ubisoft as a indicator of how the generation will work. The game is gonna be on everything so the differences will show
