Corsair Dominator GT RAM Issues

Thread Starter
Okay, I will admit that I am an enormous OC noob.

but here is the issue I've been having.

around 1 year ago I had been saving up some cash, I've always wanted a rig since the days of Unreal one so when I finally decided to buy one I went (reasonable) all out.

Long story short I got a LGA 2011 Rig with lots of goodies (Tower of Babel), including an Asus Rampage IV Extreme and 2 sets of 4x4gb Corsair Dominator GT RAM said to be able to go to 2133mhz.

I installed all the components and software my self, I didnt do any tweaks in the bios other than change boot devices. When i ran geek bench, I realized that my ram were running at 1333, so I upped them to 2133 and tried to run the bench again, but the machine started bluescreening, and continued to do so after multiple reboots. It was only until I downclocked my ram to 1600mhz was it stable. I didnt change anything in the bios except the ram clock speeds.

So, do i have defective parts or did i do something wrong? should I tweak something else when I change RAM speeds????

You're going to have to mess with the voltage and cas, not just the ram speed to OC it. Your not going to see a difference from 1600-2133 though, not in games at least.
