The only thing that's the same about this card is the GPU.

The memory is different, the PCB is different, the way boost works is different...

Just saying...

And even that isn't exactly the same, it's a GK104-425 instead of a GK104-400.

I'm didn't look at all reviews yet. Anandtech review puts GTX 770 ahead of HD7970GHz and it costs 50$ less

In the UK this is cheaper then the 7970Ghz edition but the 7970 is 3GB VRAM. Rather buy the 770 and I thought I will never buy a NV product but until this day I will :O

Let's see, the 1280 MB framebuffer of the GTX 570 is already maxing out at 1080p in a lot of games and that is with the current console generation, now think of the new standard for high-end GPUs which are being paired with 1440p monitors that sometimes cost even less than this GPU, if in a year you can say that things won't change a lot when the new consoles are released with 8 GB of (V)RAM ?

Even if we consider that 1 GB is reserved for the OS(es), and some of it will be used for non GPU related tasks in games, new games for consoles will want to show the benefits of a new generation of consoles and thus start using a good amount of high resolution textures right from the beginning, so expect at least 2 GB of (V)RAM to be used right from the start, so now the question is: what will the experience of a GTX 770 owner be in one year, let alone in two years, before the upgrade cycle comes ?

I'll say it again, the saving grace for this card is the price, but ultimately, and given AMD's clear efforts and successes in driver improvements and commitment to gaming (TressFX, Never Settle Bundles), their hardware makes the most sense for people on non yearly upgrade cycles.

I take it you are not aware that the 770's come in 4gb variants?
