you cannot compare a single GPU card to a dual GPU card..

Titan IS the fastest single GPU card on the planet as of today.

Well actually....there is telsa/k20x with a full 15 SMX units devil.gif cost: 2 kidneys and a dialysis machine :/ though that's another story.

In reality regardless of dual GPU/single PCB vs Single GPU/Single PCB they can be compared because they're both a single graphics card. Sure they're vastly different in construction, still a single card none the less.

i give this card abit of flak sure, but man that memory is absolutely impressive! There are no other words for it though on the 256 bus it's still probably a bottleneck.. what a waste. I have no idea why they didn't put this on the titan, that's a no compromise card with a no compromise price... this SHOULD be on the titan imo.

256-bit bus is holding back kepler so much IMO. Hell the 4gb cards from the reviews i saw showed essentially no improvement over existing 2gb. If the 770 had a 384-bit bus i wonder how much gain we would see?

K20X only has 2688 cuda cores... The spec is the exact same the titan has. Though teslas need to pass some different QC standards

Caught me before edit frown.gif was just checking to make sure i had posted that correctly, yeah should've checked before but thought i remembered something i had read in article above, etc. etc. I was under the impression Titan had one SMX unit disabled opposed to Tesla/k20x?

So how high did you guys get your 770 clock to? Mine went to 1293mhz ingame, not sure if that's good or not.

That's because there is no performance advantage to more VRAM unless you run out.  2 GB, 4 GB, 6 GB - performance is the same if you are only using 1.5 GB.

You made a mistake to sell your 680 and buy 770
the 770 Will not reach new clocks the Average overclock for it is 1250 -1300 the same Average for 680

Then i saw the post from the guy who bought the Gigabyte 770 and ran valley at 1300/2000 getting 48 fps - my 7970 ran valley at 1300/1800 and got 54.5 (without any driver or OS tweaks)

How come these reviewers get different results? (Yes I know they left their 7970 at stock; still doesn't explain the gap)

I think the average for the 680 is lower than that.  I'd put it around 1200.

Edit: Actually 1218 on HWBOT.

How was the 7970 a better choice? When every metric we looked at had the 680 winning at its release and then later tying/equaling the 7970 after the 7970's drivers took a course in awesome? wink.gif

Specs in this case don't matter one bit. Even if the 7970 had a 512 or 1024 bit memory bus, if it still equaled the 680 with its 256 bus, then they're equal cards.

Now I grant you that the 7970 was usually a bit cheaper, so that's certainly important. But it is not nor was it ever completely superior to the 680.
