There's talk about a couple add ons to the Vishera line... the FX-9000 and the FX-8770. Nothing has been mentioned about clocks for the 8770, but the 9000 is reported to be 4.8 stock, 5.0 boost... drawback... 220W reported TDP...

My interpretation... AMD is saying here's our limited run enthusiast upgrade of the 8350... to tide to the market over until Steamroller comes out. If you're going to do an Intel though... I'd look at the i5-3570K or the i7-3770K... not enough performance difference to justify a haswell, especially with the price difference between 1155 and 1150 motherboards. And frankly, unless you're going to be doing a lot of highly intensive CPU taxing stuff... save the $100 dollars and go with the i5.

Back to topic though... yeah... if you already have a 670 SLI setup... there's no real point in getting a 770 unless you've got someone lined up to buy your 670s right away.

Did anyone overvoltage your 770 yet? Like running it at 1.21v using EVGA Precision X?

My msi gamer 770 does 1.20v stock and can overvolt to 1.212 but dont get much more out of it. My max is 1254mhz 1.20 and seems like 1267mhz 1.212 using heaven 4.0 ultra settings as my preliminary stability test. I can hit 8000mhz memory though but would have preferred a nice 1300mhz gpu instead lol

Zotac GeForce GTX 770

Overclocking

Overclocking the GTX 770 is just as weird as the GTX 780 and the GTX Titan. Since the card already is overclocking itself dynamically via NVIDIA Boost 2 you never are sure what you will end up with when setting a target clock in MSI Afterburner or Zotac Firestorm. We did a quick test to overclock this card and increased the target temperature to around 85C and allowed the card to use 105% if the power draw.

The best overclock we achieved in our limited time with the card was 1162 MHz for the core (up from 1059 MHz, ~+9.8%) and 7600 MHz for the memory (up from 7010 MHz, +8.4%). This resulted in around 8% better results in 3DMark Firestorm Extreme and Bioshock Infinite. We had no problems with instability at these levels and we are actually sure we could have pushed the card up even higher given time to experiment a bit.
Summary

The Zotac GTX 770 is a great card. True, it really feels like an GTX 680 on steroids and some might feel it is deception from Nvidia to call it GTX 770 since it is so similar to the GTX 680. But if we are honest there is not much to complain about. What Nvidia has done is to take the top single-GPU card of the previous generation, added some more performance, updated it with new features and then rebranded it as a mid-end card in the new series. And we should be fine with that because it offers us consumers a lot of value.

Even though we might have preferred the stock cooler of the GTX Titan and GTX 780, which is used on the reference GTX 770, we can’t deny that the “dual-silencer” cooler works well and keeps the card cool without making much noise. The included Splinter Cell-bundle is also nice. What impresses us even more is that the price of the Zotac GTX 770 is around $399 while a Zotac GTX 680 from the same e-tailer (Newegg) cost $460 or even more. So basically we get more features, more performance for a lower price. We of course do not think anyone with a GTX 680 would like to upgrade, the difference is not big enough – that is what the GTX 780 is for, but for GTX 670-owners this card is a great upgrade.

not sure if I would still upgrade from an overclocked GTX 670 OC..

So if i understand this correctly it is a good upgrade over my 660 TI?

I realy want the 780 but for me that is just too expensive still.

I am looking for another card and i am leaning on the MSI 770 lightning i liked the 680 lightning as well but i could not buy it anymore so now i have a new chance to buy it biggrin.gif

The difference is marginal. I had an evga 670ftw (1230mhz) in dec I sold and waited for a 770. I dont regret it though since the evga ftw was louder than I liked but anyways, the 770 clock for clock is faster but in bf3 is maybe a 15fps difference in ave fps and 7-10fps difference in min fps. If your not happy with your 670 then get a 770, its a cheaper 680 basically so I was happy about that for sure.

My 770 overclocks higher though so most of my charts I csnt compare clock for clock, on my max oc I sometimes get over 20fps difference but gameplay on bf3 still feels the same, at least im ready for bf4 frostbite 3...just not looking forward to game bugs lol

I'm set for GPU's at the moment, I was just posting the reviews.

my GTX 680 DC II TOP does run with the GTX 770's and beats few when I clock the mem, it also proven to flash to GTX 770 without crashing.
and then my (SLi) N670GTX PE 2GD5/OC's are already @ GTX 680 levels so its GTX Titan's or GTX 780's the only upgrade I have.

No not really. Or not enough to really justify the cost IMO. 660 Ti is quite the performer for it's price, but it's by no means obsolete because of the 770s release. If i were you i'd wait till maxwell/volcanic islands. Maybe add another 660Ti if you feel your performance is lacking.
